After four years, the Spanish Superliga is once again at the top of Europe. Team Heretics from the LVP defy the odds and win the EU Masters with a game five thriller.
The LVP rules Europe once again
The 2022 Summer European Masters tournament had the chance to be one for the history books and it delivered. Three French, two British, one German, and one Spanish team made it to the knockout stage. With the Spanish and German teams faltering through the Play-In and group stage, everyone predicted the crown would remain in the LFL. Karmine Corp, the 2022 Spring EU Masters winners, didn’t qualify for the summer competition. But the rest of the LFL representatives fielded rosters that were nothing to scoff at.

Team BDS Academy road to EUM Final
LEC front office executives were watching closely as the madness unfolded. Team BDS Academy made it to the Grand Finals without dropping a single game or map! Considering the position this team was in at the start of the LFL playoffs, we would say they had a great split. Losing to LDLC in the LFL Finals and to Team Heretics in the EUM Finals, after making roster changes a day before the playoffs kicked off is a great achievement. They 3-0 swept two French powerhouse teams, Vitality Bee and Gameward, in the EUM Knockout stage. The LEC experienced bot lane of Juš “Crownie” Marušič and Robert “Erdote” Nowak were the backbone of the team, with Steven “Reeker” Chen dominating mid laners as he looks for a second LEC chance.
SILVER SCRAPES!! WE ARE GOING TO GAME 5!!

Team Heretics road to EUM Final
Unlike their opponents, Team Heretics had a much harder time getting to the EU Masters Grand Finals. The LVP champions had to go through the LFL, NLC, and Prime League champions in a single bracket. As they say, the harder the journey, the sweeter the win. And the harder road helped Heretics win the whole thing, as they seemed more prepared in the clinching game five. From draft to lane assignments to team fights, Team Heretics looked like the more cohesive and well-rounded team in the finals. After a five-game series against UOL and a win against LDLC, nothing was stopping Jakob “Jackspektra” Gullvag Kepple from winning his first EU Masters.

Jackspektra to the LEC as an EUM winner
Four years after the infamous MAD Lions roster featuring Selfmade, Nemesis, and Crownshot won the EU Masters, the LVP is back on top. This time around, another formidable MID JG ADC trio, carried their team to the crown. Analysts from the regional leagues have been raving about Jackspektra’s talent for years now. In a crazy turn of events in the 2021 offseason, he barely didn’t make a LEC roster. This time around, he’s going to the LEC with his own team as an EU Masters champion. Heretics purchased the Misfits LEC slot and they already have the most important pieces in place.
Idk why but after game 4 I couldn't stop smiling, I felt like I couldn't ask for a different ending with such a banger and i felt that no matter the outcome I'd be happy with this year, cause of this i felt i was able to play without any pressure or fear, I love competing so much

2023 LEC Heretics will be scary
Mid laner Artur “Zwyroo” Trojan is another name to look out for. His performance in the finals earned him the MVP award, being a steady and dominant presence. He pulled out four unique champions throughout the five games, capping it off with a dominant Azir performance. His playstyle and qualities as a player remind everyone of the Swedish control mage prodigy Larssen, and those kinds of players generally translate well to the highest level of competition.

On the other side, Team BDSA lost a nail-biter. With four of their five starters looking to return to the LEC after this split, this win was much needed. With the offseason already being kicked off for most of the European teams, we wish nothing but the best to Team BDSA and congratulate them on their valiant effort.
