In 2022, VALORANT experienced tremendous growth, particularly in its esports ecosystem. This growth was reflected in an increased audience at national and international events, and to close the year, all previous records were broken with a world championship in Champions.

According to Brendan Husebø, Sentinels and LOUD had the two most active eSports Twitter pages in 2022.

Millions of interactions

On the other hand, VALORANT’s world champion LOUD took home the championship and set the bar for all esports organizations regarding brand interaction on Twitter. LOUD broke the record for total interaction on Twitter, reaching over 19.7 million interactions on their @LOUDgg channel in 2022, excluding retweets and reply tweets directed elsewhere. This data is known thanks to Brendan Husebø, a social media content analyst who once worked for Fnatic.

Overall, Japan’s rise was the most pronounced. Crazy Raccoon ranked second in average share and third overall, while three of the top four spots in average share went to companies from Japan – Crazy Raccoon, ZETA Division, and TSM Japan.

TSM Japan had tremendous growth between 2021 and 2022 due to the success of its Apex Legends team, which just took home the ALGS Split One playoff title. In addition, Fnatic Japan had remarkable growth. Furthermore, VALORANT has gained enormous popularity throughout Japan, making the country one of the top regions in viewership.
