Overwatch 2 players demand Blizzard reduce the frequency with which Push mode appears because they hate it.

Blizzard stated that Overwatch 2 would have enough fresh material to constitute an entirely new game when it originally came out. A new competitive game mode called Push was one of those significant improvements. However, it seems that the Overwatch community has grown tired of it.

Push game mode

With the removal of map pools, Overwatch 2 offers a broader range of gameplay options. But, despite the map pool modification, players have noticed that one game mode has been popping up too often, making it feel a bit monotonous.

Even the game’s director, Aaron Keller, has acknowledged that Push has occasionally popped up much more frequently than expected. Finally, however, that problem has been fixed.

Aoron Keller said that on Feb. 10, Push’s frequency in Overwatch 2 was fixed, making the game modes appear more balanced occasionally. However, players aren’t so sure and are calling for it to be fixed again.

Demanding Push is removed from the game; one Reddit user posted a screenshot showing Push mode appearing more frequently than other modes while playing ranked.

No. More. Push. Please. from Overwatch

Others joined the frustrated Overwatch 2 player’s plea with their expressions of annoyance.

One player commented:

“At this point, I’d actually pay money to not play Push.”

Some users concurred, with one admitting that he would pay $100 to remove it. On the other hand, some mocked the new battle pass system and other microtransactions that have increased in Overwatch 2.

Why does Overwatch 2’s Push game mode receive so much criticism?

The appearance points of the Push mode are the most criticized. Many players have complained about the time it takes from the appearance point to the robot. One player estimated that rejoining the battle takes about 45 seconds with no mobility options.

When teams start to lag, this can get much worse, as some teammates may not be willing to wait for a Reinhardt or Zenyatta to rejoin the fight.

Therefore, teams that fall behind must make a much greater effort to catch up.

One player commented:

“Imagine if on a control map and you have 0 percent and the enemy team has 25%. .but you have to count down their 25% before you can even begin to accrue your own progress.”

One way to avoid playing Push in Overwatch 2 is to pay a fee, but some players suggested that Blizzard could improve the mode with a few minor tweaks. For example, according to one Overwatch player, the bot spawn points could be more focused. Another person suggested that Blizzard could include jump pads or increase player speed.

At the moment, Blizzard has yet to respond to the recent increase in opposition to Push mode. Developers could try to reduce the frequency with which Push mode is repeated, as Keller suggested might be essential. For now, players must wait and hope Push mode is not activated the next time they log in.
