Gen.G has recently revealed a new project in collaboration with period care product manufacturers Always and Tampax in order to break barriers for female and non-binary gamers in esports. The project is titled Astral Clash VALORANT tournament and is set to take place this summer.

The Astral Clash VALORANT tournament will be hosted in cooperation with Galorants, the largest VALORANT community of female-identifying and non-binary gamers, known for the Game Changers Academy a mentorship program during the VALORANT Championship Series.

Astral Clash tournament teams and schedule

The Astral Clash VALORANT tournament will feature teams from North America, who will be able to qualify via Open Qualifiers scheduled for June and July, with two teams going forward from each event.

The top four teams will then compete at August’s LAN event in Southern California for the championship title. The overall prize pool of the Astral Clash 2022 is $12,400, with teams being able to earn money prizes even in qualifiers.

Astral Clash schedule for 2022:

  • Online Virtual Qualifier: June 17-19
  • Online Last Chance Qualifier: July 15 – July 17
  • Live Finals: August 6 in Southern California

The Astral Clash tournament also has plans for 2023! The organizers already released the tournament schedule for the next year with the same prize pool of $12,400. The format remains identical — four teams will be chosen via two open qualifiers and meet in a live Grand Final in March 2023, with the location yet to be announced.

Astral Clash schedule for 2023:

  • Online Virtual Qualifier: December 2-4, 2022
  • Online Last Chance Qualifier: January 21-23, 2023
  • Live Finals: March 11, 2023, location TBA

Astral Clash ambassadors and charity intentions

Apart from raising the question about female gamers in esports, another goal of the tournament is to talk about women’s confidence and garner self-love and self-care.

The event will feature female ambassadors such as streamers Krystalogy, Blisskai, Jessica Kim, Shannon Williams, Nicki Taylor and Raeyei. The girls will be divided into Tampax and Always teams and raise money for two charity organizations — Period Education Project and Uniquely You Summit.

Throughout the year, the organizers of the Astral Clash will be giving away lots of prizes. Each month, players will be able to earn Valorant RP, Tampax and Always products, as well as a chance to win a fully paid trip to the Astral Clash live finals in Southern California.
