Get ready, Valorant fans! The 24th agent is on their way to join the lineup. Riot Games had planned to release a total of three agents this year. The first of the trio, Gekko, made a debut in February during VCT LOCK//IN, followed by the arrival of Deadlock at the start of Episode 7. Now, the highly anticipated third and final addition to the Valorant roster is about to make its entrance. Here’s a comprehensive overview of everything we know about the upcoming agent.

Valorant Agent 24 will be codenamed as ‘Architect’

According to a notable leaker in the Valorant community, Mike, the forthcoming agent is likely to bear the codename ‘Architect.’ Typically, these codenames are assigned by developers during the character design and development phase. They often offer a hint or connection to the agent’s primary abilities or thematic elements.

Agent Architect will be a duelist

After a considerable hiatus since the introduction of Neon in early 2022, VALORANT enthusiasts can finally anticipate the arrival of a new duelist agent. In a recent tweet from the official VALORANT X (formerly Twitter) handle, confirmation was provided that the upcoming agent will assume the role of a duelist. The community is abuzz with excitement as they eagerly await the unveiling of this new addition to the roster.

Certainly, the revelation of the new duelist isn’t entirely unexpected. Riot set the stage for this anticipation at the beginning of the year 2023 by disclosing their plans to introduce three agents in 2023, each designated to fulfil distinct roles: Initiator, Sentinel, and, as confirmed now, a duelist.

Gekko and Deadlock have already been introduced as Initiator and Sentinel roles, meeting the criteria laid out by Riot. Now, all eyes are on Valorant Protocol as the community eagerly awaits the unveiling of the upcoming duelist, heightening the excitement and speculation surrounding this latest addition to the Valorant agent lineup.

Abilities that will favour gunfight

According to the Valorant official blog, Riot is emphasizing a more gunfight-oriented approach for the upcoming Agent. Assuming from this information, it’s likely that the agent’s abilities may not primarily cause damage but instead focus on gaining tactical advantages, similar to Reyna (just a guess). Here is a statement from the dev:

At its core VALORANT is a team-based Tac Shooter where gunplay shines. For some of you that means aspiring to plow through enemies like Jinggg, and putting hours in clicking those orbs with aim trainers for that clean 5K.

Adding further to this, he went on to say that it truly sparks curiosity because something special and different is coming this time.

This next Agent is for you. We’ve also got a little twist you never thought would make it into VALORANT… well.. Some of you mayyyy have been dreaming in the right direction.

Agent 24 origin

Just like abilities, there is not much information about the origin of the upcoming agent, but fans are already prepared with theories based on the official artwork displayed on Valorant’s official blog.

The image depicts an unknown agent eating hotpot. If you don’t know, hotpot is a popular dish among East Asian countries, especially China. So does it mean we are getting one more Chinese agent? Most probably not, because the image, captioned as “Duck Blood,” is pointing to another region, which is Poland, as Duck Blood is a Polish dish.

Also, it is highly unlikely that Valorant is again getting a duelist from Asia, as Neon is already representing the Philippines.

The expected release date might be likely at the start of the new act at the end of October or early November. Stay tuned for more updates.
