FURIA has won the 2023 Elisa Masters Espoo, defeating Apeks in the Grand Final. The brazilian team took 100.000 Dollars home.

Brazilian team FURIA has won the 2023 edition of Elisa Masters Espoo, defeating Apeks 3-1 in the best-of-five grand final. This victory ended a long period without trophies at international LAN events for FURIA. The team had last won the Arctic Invitational in Finland in September 2019 and the new victory was important for the lineup’s confidence.

Andrei “arT” Piovezan was delighted with the result and confirmed that the success in Finland has special significance because it has been quite a long time since they won a tournament. The lineup will now take this momentum to Dubai next to take part in the BetBoom Dacha tournament. Confidence is high that they can continue their positive development and dominate against the other teams again.

FURIA vs. Apeks

The first map was Inferno, Apeks’ pick. FURIA dominated after initially trailing and ended the first half with a score of 8:4. Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes scored an ace in the 11th game. Apeks caught up and equalized at 8:8 before FURIA overtook their opponents again and won the game.

Then it was back to Ancient and Yuri “yuurih” Santos opened with a triple kill.
After an even fight in the first rounds, Apeks took control of the game and went into the break with an 8:4 lead.FURIA came back but ultimately lost to Apeks, led by Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad.

The third map was Vertigo and Apeks started strong, but FURIA fought their way back into the game. Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo made a costly mistake, but it didn’t stop FURIA from turning the game around and taking the win.

Then it was Mirage’s turn and this time FURIA got off to a dynamic start and quickly took a 5:1 lead. Apeks caught up and tied the game at 6-6, but FURIA overtook again and surged ahead, secured by strong performances from chelo and Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato. Chelo was FURIA’s best player and achieved a 1.20 rating, the strongest in the match. On the other side, Tim “nawwk” Jonasson managed a 1.17 rating for Apeks, which was also impressive. nawwk was even named MVP, the Most Valuable Player.

There was no need for a fifth map, as FURIA won Mirage 13:9 and thus the match with a dominant 3:1.

FURIA takes home half of the 200,000 dollar prize pool, i.e. 100,000 dollars. Apeks finished in second place and was still able to claim 40,000 dollars for itself.
