After three years of competing for FaZe Clan, Twistzz decided to leave the organization. He almost certainly left because of being a bit tired and probably homesick. Competing in Europe for such a long time comes with major sacrifices for someone who’s from Canada.

In an interview I did with Twistzz several months ago, he said that he rarely gets the chance to fly home and stay with his family. No matter how much money you make and how many trophies you win, in the end, you’re still a human being and need more than that.

No doubt, Twistzz’s decision to end his contract with FaZe Clan was not a result of a disappointment. He’s won seven S-tier titles with this organization, as well as the Intel Grand Slam Season 4. Three of those titles were won in Counter-Strike 2, which makes FaZe Clan the most successful organization in this game so far.

When you experience so much success, quitting looks like a crime from the outside. But the person who needs to wake up every day and make enormous personal sacrifices to attain that success experiences it very differently. Fans tend to see just the upside. Players know the whole story. And very often, it’s more painful than it looks.

It will be interesting to see where Twistzz is headed next. Will he take a break from competition? Will he join an NA team immediately? Will he surprise us by joining a team like Falcons? Nothing is known at this point. All we know is that he parted ways with FaZe Clan on good terms, almost certainly because of fatigue and not some other reason.

Twistzz’s most important achievements with FaZe Clan

Twistzz used to compete for Team Liquid before joining FaZe. And he was certainly a very strong player there, winning big trophies and even the Intel Grand Slam Season 2. It’s not an accident that FaZe wanted him for their Counter-Strike roster. And not long after he joined, the team was ready to win trophies.

To be fair, he wasn’t the final piece of the puzzle. That piece was ropz. But he certainly was one of the most important pieces. Here’s what he achieved in the three years he spent competing for FaZe:

  • IEM Katowice 2022 (1st)
  • EPL S15 (1st)
  • PGL Major Antwerp 2022 (1st)
  • IEM Cologne 2022 (1st)
  • IGS S4
  • EPL S17 (1st)
  • Thunderpick World Championship (1st)
  • CS Asia Championships 2023 (1st)
