One of the best tanks in Overwatch League history, Gael “Poko” Gouzerch, signed with Seoul Infernal as a content creator before OWL 2023.

Recall that Poko has been one of the most prominent tanks in the OWL competitive scene. The Frenchman was one of the key pillars of the Philadelphia Fusion team that played in the Grand Finals in the 2018 season. However, after a practically dead season for him, the player announced his retirement as a professional at the end of 2022.

Now, the player returns to his home at the beginning of his career, the Seoul Infernal, but this time from another role, content creation.

Seoul Infernal announce the signing of Poko as a content creator

A few days before the start of the Overwatch League 2023, Seoul Infernal made an important announcement, but it had nothing to do with their Overwatch squad. It is the signing of the veteran and well-known French player Poko as the organization’s content creator.

As mentioned, Poko returns to what was his home during his early days within the OWL, as let’s remember that Seoul Infernal, before returning to Seoul, played under the name Philadelphia Fusion.

Poko is well-known in the scene for his great playing ability with D.Va in his early years in the OWL. So much so that many in the community christened one of this character’s skills as Poko Bomb.

Poko explains his signing with Seoul Infernal

The Frenchman, who returned from his “retirement,” has published a video explaining why he decided to return and do it as a content creator, which will be completely new in his career.

In the video, Poko goes through some boxes and looks at different jerseys he used while actively playing for Philadelphia Fusion. However, when he got the current one from the Seoul Infernal, he started giving details regarding his decision.

As we can see and hear, Poko admits that he did not expect, indeed, to have any plans to return to the scene, let alone as a content creator. However, he then clarifies that the Infernal made him a proposal that, without a doubt, he couldn’t pass up.

It was a really short video, and Poko didn’t have the time to explain what happened. However, he mentioned that he talked to Roston “Roston” Yoo, the organization’s General Manager, and offered him the team’s sixth-man position. But he also explained that it was highly unlikely that he would get playing time. Finally, Poko joked that he knew the feeling of not playing regularly, so he was offered the job as a content creator and did not hesitate to accept it.

Poko’s future in the team

As the player points out, Poko is unlikely to wear the jersey in Seoul Infernal’s starting lineup in OWL 2023. However, it is very likely that if something happens and a player is needed right away, the French veteran will be the chosen one.

For now, fans of the team and Poko will have to settle for watching the player’s streams via Twitch and YouTube.
