The excitement of the Call of Duty League’s season finale tournament, the CDL Championship 2023, continues, and we have Toronto Ultra and New York Subliners one step away from playing in the Grand Final.

Both teams won 3-1 victories over their rivals to seal their ticket to the Winners Bracket Final. On the other hand, LA Thieves and Minnesota RØKKR are the first two teams eliminated from the tournament, as they lost both games they played.

Let’s see what happened on the second day of the CDL Championship 2023.

Seattle Surge gives a mortal blow to LA Thieves

In an interesting and exciting match, the Seattle Surge delivered a killer blow to LA Thieves to eliminate them from the CDL Championship 2023. Undoubtedly, it was an extremely intense match, as it was back and forth from the start. However, the Surge were able to deliver the final blow to stay alive in the tournament.

Embassy (Hardpoint) was the scene of the series’ first game, and we saw the Surge take the victory 250-161. Then, the Thieves reacted immediately to strike back at El Asilo (Search&Destroy) and evened the series 1-1 after a 6-2 win.

The Surge struck again in El Asilo (Control) with a narrow 3-2 victory to move to within one win of advancing to the next round of the Elimination Bracket. As was the case in the second match, the Californian team was able to hit the table at Mercado Las Almas (Hardopoint) and took the victory by 250-210. Finally, with the game at 2-2, the Surge managed a 6-4 win at Al Bagra Fortress (Search&Destroy) to stay alive in the tournament.

Boston Breach send Minnesota RØKKR home

The Breach got an excellent 3-1 win in this match against the RØKKKR, sending them back home winless in this CDL Championship 2023.

It all started at Al Bagra Fortress (Hardpoint), with Boston showing exceptional play to take a crushing 250-87 victory. Then, the RØKKR were able to react despite being crushed in the first game and evened the series 1-1 with a 6-2 win at Mercado Las Almas (Search&Destroy).

Finally, the Breach picked up 3-0 wins at El Asilo (Control) and 250-211 at Breenbergh Hotel (Hardpoint) to seal their victory and stay alive in the tournament.

Toronto Ultra stun Atlanta FaZe and advance to Winners Bracket finals

The surprises continue in this CDL Championship 2023; this time, the Ultra sent Atlanta FaZe to the Elimination Brackets after a comfortable 3-1 victory.

The Ultra started the series very strong in Mercado Las Almas (Hardpoint) with a 250-162 victory. Atlanta FaZe then tried to come back and command respect in the series with a solid 6-2 win at Embassy (Search&Destroy). However, that was all the Atlanta FaZe boys could do, as the Toronto Ultra managed to win the remaining two games to qualify for the Winners Bracket finals.

Finally, the Ultra won 3-0 at El Asilo (Control) and 250-221 at Al Bagra Fortress (Hardpoint).

Green wall collapses again against NY Subliners

OpTic Texas, or the green wall, have once again collapsed in the important stages of a tournament, as, this time, they fell 3-1 to the Subliners to thus fall to the Elimination Brackets.

This match replayed what happened in Ultra vs. FaZe, as the Subliners took the victory at Breenbergh Hotel (Hardpoint) by 250-130. OpTic then reacted to even the series at 1-1 thanks to the win, also at Breenbergh Hotel (Search&Destroy).

For the third time in a row, the teams met at Breenbergh Hotel, but this time in Control, where the Subliners took the 3-1 win to put the series in check. Finally, in a truly intense and exciting battle, the Subliners won 250-246 at Al Bagra Fortress (Hardpoint) to seal their ticket to the Winners Bracket final.
