The dark season is approaching and with it, of course, Halloween. In gaming and esports, this is always a perfect occasion for events, skins and specials. We also have a Halloween special for you and present the top 10 Halloween skins in games!

Whether League of Legends, Fortnite, CS:GO, Overwatch, Apex Legends, Call of Duty or Valorant. Each of these games has unique designs for the heroes and weapons to send a shiver down your spine.

10. Candy Cat (Dota 2)

Our list starts with a real scoop. Moving away from Pudge’s usual bloody and gritty look, the Candy Cat set from Dota 2 gives our lovable hulking Hooker a colourful and rather “cute” twist. Covered in a bag of sweets and a peeping cat, our decaying bugbear roams the map with cheerful colours and a “less creepy” pumpkin cat face. For the fun idea, there is place 10.

9. Reaver Red Skin (Valorant)

The Reaver skin has been around at VALORANT since the early days of the beta and has been revived with the latest 2.0 installation. With its alternative colours of black and red, it makes a great Halloween skin, especially when combined with a finisher that drags the opponent down into the depths of hell. Even though this is not an official Halloween skin, what could be scarier than being one-tapped by a Reaver Vandal?

8. Roadhog Clown (Overwatch)

Although there is probably a creepy clown skin in every game and this is actually nothing individual, Roadhog’s clown skin from Overwatch appears here anyway. The clown Roadhog skin reminds you a little too much of the scary antagonist Pennywise from the It movies. This red-nosed Roadhog with red lipstick and sharp teeth has white make-up and red spikes in his hair. His belly tattoo matches his face perfectly and bears the word “SMILE”, while his traditional number plate belt reads “FN-TIMES”. The skin was free to play last year during the Halloween event and not for purchase, making the scary skin definitely something special.

7. Headless Hecarim (League of Legends)

One of the champions guaranteed not to celebrate Halloween the way Trick-Or-Treat Ekko does is Headless Hecarim from League of Legends. This is one of the best Halloween skins in the game, if only because of the mythology surrounding the actual legend. Headless Hecarim is one of the more harrowing skins in League of Legends and one where Riot Games makes a monster champion even more monstrous. He was released as a normal skin on 25 October 2012, but has since become a Legacy skin. Headless Hecarim is one of the best Halloween skins because he truly embodies the spirit of myth and pop culture. After all, he is a scary monster from the myths, with a Jack-O’-Lantern carved out of pumpkin for a head.

6. Caustic Dark Humor Clown (Apex Legends)

Yes, another clown, but clowns are also just plain creepy! Caustic looks pretty scary with this look when you see him up close. He looks like some kind of demonic clown with his hair and new mask. During the last two weeks of the Fight or Fright event, from 18 October to 1 November, there’s a great selection of old skins and items you can grab before the event ends. In total, there are 15 returning packs that include legend skins, weapon skins and frames to customise player banners. But this clown skin is definitely one of the scarier ones.

5. Nomad Grave Robber (R6S)

The Rainbow Six Siege event Doctor’s Curse returns! While Doctor’s Curse is a very special event, its uniqueness is not the only aspect that the community loves. The Doctor’s Curse cosmetics are some of the best in the game, and with the event’s return, they will once again be available in the in-game shop. The event runs from 13 October to 2 November, with you basically playing hide and seek in a haunted castle. During the event, you can grab exclusive cosmetics that will no longer be available at the end of the event. One particularly successful skin is Grave Robber Nomad, which will send you fleeing as a resurrected man without eyes!

4. PUBG x Dead by Daylight Clown Skin (PUBG)

Something that PUBG has ahead of them all: you can customise individual outfit parts! The Halloween sets for this year look particularly scary. The Battle Royale announced a collaboration with multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight, and the clown skin once again puts everyone else to shame. Why are we so afraid of clowns? Because we don’t normally expect anything evil from clowns, after all they are there to make children laugh. Therein lies the contradiction that fills us with dread, especially with this clown who will make children cry at best!

3. Demogorgon (Fortnite)

Even though the Demogorgon skin from Fortnite doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with Halloween, it’s definitely still scary and can definitely induce anxiety at times. Fortnite is known for its crossovers, but of course the Stranger Things monster that Elfie has been trying to fight for 4 seasons can’t be missing from our Halloween edition. The first season of the popular TV series was even released at Halloween time, and anyone who says they weren’t scared by the series definitely wasn’t looking properly. The skin is perfect for Halloween and comes in at number 3.

2. Hyper Beast (CS:GO)

This colourful weapon would almost fit better into a carnival bundle, you think? This particularly beautiful piece is a truly unique skin, which is why it lands at number 2. Hyper Beast is a community-created skin from Renegade. The gun is decorated with a fantastic creature in psychedelic colours. The colour scheme includes various shades of green, red, orange and blue. The barrel and the rear part of the buttstock are not painted. It appears on the M4A1-S, AWP, Nova and the Five-SeveN. As if that wasn’t enough, the skin has a StatTrak option and simply looks like no other weapon. Its colourful appearance makes it look like poisonous mushroom, which you’d better keep your distance from!

1. Donnie Darko Ghostface (CoD)

For its originality, the bunny skin from the film Donnie Darko for operator Ghostface lands at number 1 on our list. It takes some creativity to come up with something ‘new’ and not design the thousandth clown, pumpkin head, zombie, vampire or ghost. That’s why the creepy bunny named Frank deserves the gold medal in the ranking. Unfortunately, the skin is no longer available in the shop, as it was only available for Halloween 2021. The bunny costume is just awesome – and the finishing move is crazy. If you haven’t seen the film yet, you should! True to Frank’s motto “Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?”, as the owner of the exclusive Frank costume you definitely have a highlight from the world of Halloween skins.
