PGL Major Stockholm is entering its 3rd day and Astralis, the winner of the last 3 CS:GO Majors, has had the worst start imaginable. The Danish team lost its first two matches and then won the 3rd, but still needs to win 2 more matches to survive the Challengers Stage.

PGL Major Stockholm Partial Results

The first two stages of PGL Major Stockholm are played using the Swiss System Format. What this means is that teams play between 3 and 5 matches, needing 3 victories to advance or 3 defeats to get eliminated. At 0 W – 2 L Astralis was one loss away from a complete disaster. Fortunately for them, GODSENT was in poor shape all tournament and did not put much of a fight. The final score was 2 – 0 (16 – 3 on Nuke and 16 – 11 on Vertigo).

The first two matches, however, were rough for gla1ve and his crew. In the first one, his team lost with a score of 6 – 16 on Overpass. The opponent was Copenhagen Flames, another Danish team with big ambitions. In the second one, the score was the same, but on Dust II. This time, the opponent was Entropiq.

The best teams so far have been FaZe Clan and Copenhagen Flames. Both of them are already qualified after the first 3 matches. FaZe defeated Team Spirit, ENCE, and Virtus.pro, while Copenhagen Flames defeated Astralis, BIG, and Heroic.

The eliminated teams after the first 2 days are GODSENT and Sharks Esports.

The biggest disappointments have been MOUZ and Astralis. Both teams were expected to do well but are currently trying to avoid elimination in their next match. Fortunately, they will not need to play against each other. But there’s a high chance they will meet in the next round if both of them survive the 4th.
