One of the reasons why esports is so cool are the spectacular moments that professional players create in their games, ensuring that viewers can only marvel at the end. Such amazement can be triggered by collaterals, for example.

For those who don’t know what they are, collateral kills are the moments in the game when a player manages to take out several enemies at once – and with a single shot. They are a sign of skill, speed, and superiority and represent some of the best moments in esports.

Here’s the top 10 collateral kills in esports.

1. The impossible shot

Let’s start our top 10 list with a really weird collateral that shouldn’t be possible. When VALORANT was still relatively new, Penny managed to shoot the ball around a corner in a match against Fnatic. He managed a kill on 2 opponents who were not standing behind each other, but next to each other. So much for “Precise Gunplay” as Riot Games likes to call it.

9. Oh baby a triple

In the early days of YouTube, this sentence was heard in almost every gaming video, but hardly anyone knew where it came from. Let’s clear this up. In Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Smallman1 had an M40 in his hand and saw 3 enemies running towards him. Instead of firing immediately, he took his time until his enemies were all lined up. Then came the legendary moment, one shot and three kills. The original video has over 8 million views and the uploader is even trying to sell it as NFT these days.

8. TenZ back-to-back collateral

We come to a real banger and it’s from TenZ, who once again showed at the Knights Gauntlet Invitational why he’s one of the best ever in VALORANT. Against Immortals he knocked out not one, but 2 Collaterals on the operator and won two rounds for his team. That’s really rad considering how rare collaterals actually are and that it almost looks like pure intent on his part.

7. cadiaN on a high

Wow, what an incredible moment in esports! CS:GO pro cadiaN managed to get four kills with just two bullets – and that was despite his team SK Gaming having to play an eco round, down to their AWP. However, cadiaN stayed cool and used his AWP on Cobblestone to destroy his opponents. The game went into overtime, but thanks to cadiaN’s incredible skills, his team was eventually able to get the win. Performances like this show why cadiaN is one of the top Esport players.

6. Attack is the best defense

It was a breathtaking moment in Esport, when CS:GO pro F0rest from Ninjas in Pyjamas suddenly found himself in 1v2 against HellRaisers on Overpass and the tension was almost palpable. But Forest remained calm and focused, using his AWP like a master and keeping his cool. Even though the bomb was cut off by a Molotov and he had to disarm it, he counted on a flank over the sewer and grabbed his collateral and the round. You really don’t see that every day.

5. dev1ce collateral double headshot

This play by dev1ce even his teammates couldn’t believe and everyone on the server could only marvel. Let’s stay directly on Overpass, but this time in the match between Astralis and Team Vitality, where it was dev1ce and his Deagle against four Vitality players. He couldn’t possibly do that, could he? dev1ce did it and took them all out including a Collateral Double Headshot. That is truly insane.

4. JW’s simply beautiful collateral

Fourth place is earned by JW and look how beautiful this Collateral of his is! When he played for Fnatic against SK Gaming, he was pushed by his enemies, but he would end up finishing them all off, I don’t think anyone expected that! JW may have been underestimated by many, but he certainly proved his worth here on this play. Aside from the final collateral, his second hit is just badass!

3. Triple collateral

When it comes to the best of the best, no normal collateral is really enough, after all, almost anyone can do that. But when it comes to killing three opponents with one bullet, well, only the absolute cracks can do that, like Rez. With a Nade he brings the three opponents to almost 50 percent HP first and prepares himself for his collateral. He even gets blinded just before he sees the shadows of his enemies and pulls the trigger. This is definitely not how G2 had imagined it, but maybe they could learn something from it: don’t all stand in one pile!

2. Oh baby a triple again

As if it was a tribute to the original video, Zyw0o’s Triple Collateral makes it to our second place! He and his team Vitality had long since extended their lead against Dignitas. But that didn’t stop Zywoo from going one better! Just then, Dignitas even managed to get 2 more kills and perhaps had hopes of winning the round again. But unfortunately, you don’t win the round by lining up and running around the corner, and Zyw0o proved that to us with his textbook Triple Collateral.

1. Oskart 3K collateral

Our first-place finish is none other than MOUZ’s Oskart with his incredible 4v1 against Fnatic! Sometimes even the pros forget that you should never push your opponents in a line! Still, it happens every now and then that one after the other rushes forward in a row, practically asking to be caught in the collateral. Oskart lies down in this play in the made nest. He first grabs Twist and then does his iconic Collateral 3K, but if Twist had come around the corner a few seconds later, who knows, maybe we’d have seen a 4K Collateral then?
