Dota 2 games can take much longer than expected. Players can feel the urge to quit the game to go to the bathroom when that happens. Oliver “skiter” Lepko couldn’t hold it in any longer after a recent Dota Pro Circuit match between Tundra Esports and Into The Breach that lasted almost the entire game.

The well-hydrated Tundra player requested a break in the game to go to the bathroom, but PGL administrators denied his request, according to skiter. So instead, the player claims he was informed that he could use a bottle, and the TI winner did so.

Incident on the Dota Pro Circuit

The incident occurred in the final moments of the match between Tundra and ITB. Tundra players stopped the game in the 55th minute and used the entire chat to inform the other players of the problem.

Skiter said:

“Alright guys, I just peed in a bottle on camera.”

In the next four minutes, Tundra capped off his final assault on ITB’s Ancient as Skiter regained his best form and a relieved bladder. Unfortunately, Dota Pro Circuit rules prohibit this, even though many players might be sympathetic to the issue and might have accepted a game interruption to go to the bathroom.

Players must remain in front of the camera for the entire game, and bathroom breaks have not been allowed in competitive matches for some time.

Players would never be allowed to go to the restroom due to the camera rule, even if a team forced an extended pause under the guise of lag or other hardware problems.

Since this rule is essential to maintain the integrity of online matches, skiter discovered the ideal solution. Furthermore, this tactic can be used in the future when playing long games.

These are some of the most important rules of the circuit

  • All players are prohibited from watching any broadcast while competing in an official match.
  • Likewise, all players are forbidden to broadcast the games they are playing.
  • During the draft, only five players and the coach may be present in the same room.
  • No managers or other persons are allowed to be present.
  • Players may not access the restroom during a game until the end of the game. Doing so will result in a penalty of LVL 2. Consequently, they take extra time off during the draft in the next game. An exception is a health-threatening condition requiring emergency medical treatment.
  • Each player must have a webcam for integrity purposes.

Failure to comply may result in penalties, including draft penalties and loss of priority selection.
