As we mentioned, releasing the new CS:GO Revolution Case brought different opinions. Most of the community was delighted with the designs of the skins, while the more detailed ones began to comment that the designs of the M4A4 and the AWP | Doodle Lore had been plagiarized.
These complaints by other skins creators in the community had an effect, as Valve had to remove the AWP | Doodle Lore from the Steam marketplace, as the artist filed a DMCA complaint.
Revolution Case
The new CS:GO box, Revolution Case, brought 17 new high-profile skins for the game’s best weapons last Friday, February 10. Recall that this box arrives after more than 290 days of waiting by the community. In addition to the skins, a music kit and a sticker capsule were also introduced.
Among the skins was the AWP | Doodle Lore. The vast majority of casual players were delighted with the colorful dragon design. However, this skin received much more attention than expected for different reasons.
AWP | Doodle Lore
Last February 15, Valve released an update to the game and, on its CS:GO blog, confirmed that the AWP skin, Doodle Lore, would be replaced by AWP | Duality.
A lot of criticism from skin experts led to the focus on the AWP. According to tests published by Danidem, the extreme similarities in the AWP designs were extreme. This led Valve to decide to make the replacement.
I've been contacted via PM and it seems the M4A4 ain't the only one with stolen artwork. The AWP by Jimmba for @CSGO is basically a dragon by the artist @vexx_arthttps://t.co/ylpBhOIAKc
Apparently, they have already been contacted and they're going to file a DMCA. pic.twitter.com/u4g3hWm5he

The design was stolen from Vexx
According to Danidem (one of the community members with the most published stickers in the CS:GO market), Jimmba’s AWP skin is practically the same design created by artist Vexx. Of course, we all know that Vexx is one of the best-known artists on the Internet, with millions of followers on social networks, so his designs are recognizable.
According to published evidence, the dragon design used for the AWP Doodle Lore was copied entirely from a Vexx design.
This is not the first time this has happened in CS:GO
This is not the first time it has happened with a CSGO skin. Recall that the game developer pulled the M4A4 Howl off the market from their boxes and left several floating around the community market. The M4A4 Griffin also suffered a similar fate; however, the skin was modified to avoid a DMCA lawsuit.
Does this affect the owners of the skins?
This is the big question that everyone in the community is asking. Valve has decided to replace the Doodle Lore AWP; what will happen to those who had this AWP in their Inventories?
The answer, in this case, is simple, the Duality skin will replace the Doodle Lore skin.
