The popular Swedish esports organization, Ninjas in Pyjamas, has decided to take a big step into the esports scene by foraying into Fortnite by signing Refsgaard, one of the best players in the world.

This announcement shows that many esports organizations remain confident in the Fortnite competitive scene. There is no doubt that this can be of great peace of mind for fans and players alike, as, at times, it was thought that the Fortnite scene was slowly dying.

NiP has one of the best Fortnite players currently on the scene, and their goal is to replicate their successes in titles like R6 and CS:GO.

NiP announces the signing of Oscar “Refsgaard” Refsgaard

Last Wednesday afternoon, March 29, the popular Swedish organization announced its entry into the Fortnite competitive scene by signing none other than Oscar “Refsgaard” Refsgaard. This player is considered one of the best in the world and is now part of one of the most popular organizations in esports history.

There is no doubt that NiP is one of the most respected organizations in the esports scene. It began in 2000 when they competed in the popular Counter-Strike 1.6. However, over the years, they have ventured into other titles, and right now, they have teams in different esports.

Now, it is the turn of Fortnite, one of the Battle Royale that has more fans worldwide, and they do it in the best possible way, signing Refsgaard.

NiP’s most recent venture were about two months ago when they announced the signing of a trio of Brazilian players for their Rocket League division. Now, this team is playing in the RLCS SA.

About Refsgaard

Oscar “Refsgaard” Refsgaard is an 18-year-old Danish player considered one of the best Fortnite players on the planet. His beginnings in the Fortnite scene date back to 2019, when he was only 14 years old and playing for Team ViaR. Then, the player jumped the Canadian organization Eleven Gaming, where, after seven months, he announced his departure from the team to sign for Team Falcons.

Finally, after over a year and a half, Refsgaard was released by the French organization in December 2022.

Refsgaard was a multiple-time FNCS finalist and will now be tasked with leading a top-tier organization to the top of the Fortnite competitive scene.

Great expectations in the Fortnite scene

There is no doubt that with this announcement by NiP, it is only a matter of time before other large organizations decide to make inroads or return (those that have withdrawn) to the Fortnite scene. In addition, many extraordinary players are without a team and would love to play for some esports organization.

NiP’s debut in the FNCS will be in Major 2, played starting next April 13, 2023.
