BetBoom Dacha will be a CS2 event held in Dubai. With 8 teams in the race and $300.000 in prizes, this is not a tournament to ignore if you’re a fan of this esport.

The competition is scheduled to take place between December 5 – 10. The winner receives $180.000, which should make the matches and especially the Grand Final a lot more interesting.

Competitive format

BetBoom Dacha uses a very simple format. Two groups of four teams will be played in the double-elimination format. Every match is a best-of-three series. The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals. The winners compete in the Grand Final, which will use the best-of-five format.

Participants

The eight participants of BetBoom Dacha are listed below:

  • Astralis
  • Cloud9
  • FURIA Esports
  • Virtus.pro
  • GamerLegion
  • BetBoom Team
  • MIBR
  • Team Spirit

The favorites are the top four teams. But even among them, Astralis and Cloud9 are much stronger than the rest. In VP’s case, we’re not entirely sure how good they are at the moment. We know that they defeated Heroic, FURIA, and Monte recently. We also know that they won a map against Cloud9.

These results, combined with the fact that they have former Major champions on the roster suggest that we should not underestimate them.

For Astralis, this will be the first opportunity to show the world what a proper Danish roster can do. Stavn and jabbi joined just a few days ago and they replaced much weaker players who were not able to help dev1ce and blameF too much. The new Astralis crew should win many of the matches that the former one would have lost.

Assuming that dev1ce and blameF continue to play their usual game, Astralis are expected to reach the semifinals at the very least. With a bit of luck, they might even win the entire tournament. Only Cloud9 and VP can realistically stop them.

For C9, ever since Boombl4 joined their roster the results have improved dramatically. They were 3rd – 4th both at Thunderpick World Championship and BLAST Premier: Fall Final. At the second of these events, they lost in the semifinals against Vitality but not without winning a map and causing serious problems. Vitality then went on to win the tournament.

This is the kind of roster that has the potential to win trophies. Three of the five players were part of the legendary Na’Vi roster that won a Major. So anything’s possible.
