Virtus.pro, one of the most popular esports organizations in the competitive CS:GO scene, announced the arrival of experienced Russian player Nikolay “mir” Bityukov to their lineup for the second half of 2023 and the launch of CS2.

In recent weeks, many rumors were on the table regarding the Russian organization, as after winning the IEM Rio Major 2022 under the Outsiders banner, this lineup lacked any success in all the subsequent tournaments they played. Moreover, now that we are still in the summer break of players and the expectation of the CS2 release, all teams want to strengthen themselves as best as possible to have a successful transition.

VP announce the signing of mir

Last July 5, the Russian esports organization, Virtus.pro, announced the signing of the experienced 27-year-old Russian, mir, to their CS:GO lineup. As we know, mir is known in the competitive scene for great skill in the game and for presenting “toxic” behaviors in the teams he has played.

In the official press release issued by VP, reference is made to the fact that it is a “long-term contract” signed last July 1, 2023. In addition, reference is also made to the fact that this signing is completed for the “role in the game” and, above all, for the “personal ability” that mir possesses. Finally, Nikolai Petrossian, the CEO of Virtus.pro, said that mir has everything in his hands to exploit his full potential in VP’s starting lineup.

mir’s first match with VP will be against the 9z Team in FiReLEAGUE Battle 2023, played in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the coming days. Also, it is worth mentioning that mir takes the place of David “n0rb3r7” Danielyan in VP’s starting lineup because he is out with an injury.

About mir

As we mentioned, mir is known in the CIS region CS:GO scene as a major powerhouse due to his extraordinary skill in the game. However, the 27-year-old has failed to make his mark in a top-tier team throughout his extensive career in the scene. Moreover, many rumors about “toxic behavior” on mir’s part are what has prevented him from staying with a team for several years or finding a spot in a top-tier lineup.

His behavior in the teams aside, there is no doubt that Mir is an impressively talented player. Since his beginnings in 2015, the Russian Rifler has always been among the best in his role. In addition, in his entire career, he presents an impressive 1.10 Rating, according to HLTV.

With this signing, Virtus.pro aims to return to the top of the CS:GO competitive scene. They have been away since their victory at the IEM Rio Major 2022. While VP won the ESL Challenger Katowice 2023, they could not qualify for the Paris Major through the RMR.
