The summer break for players officially ended after kicking off the first top-tier CS:GO tournament on the competitive scene, the BLAST Premier Fall Groups. After playing the first two matches of the tournament, Team Vitality and Complexity took victories to stay in the Upper Bracket of Group A.

There is no doubt that Team Vitality was the clear favorite to win this first match, as they have been one of the most consistent teams throughout 2023. However, it is surprising that NiP could not win against Complexity Gaming. This team did not play a good first half of the season, but they look like a completely different team with the addition of Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski.

Team Vitality Crush Evil Geniuses

Team Vitality’s dominance of the CS:GO competitive scene continues, and Evil Geniuses’ lack of success continues; even though they presented a new lineup, everything seems to indicate that things will continue in the same way. In addition to arriving as clear favorites to this match, Team Vitality was always superior to EG, to such an extent that the North American squad could not make more than six rounds in any of the two maps played.

It all started in Overpass, the map pick of Evil Geniuses, where Team Vitality started with a spectacular performance of Emil “Magisk” Reif (150.7 ADR and 2.37 Rating). As a result, the winners of the Paris Major took a 14-1 partial victory in the first half. Then, at the change of sides, Evil Geniuses extended their agony by winning five rounds, but Team Vitality reacted and took the victory by 16-6.

Then, on Vertigo, Vitality’s map pick, everything went the same way, as Shahar “flameZ” Shushan led his team to victory this time. The first half of the map ended with a crushing score of 12-3 in favor of Team Vitality. Then, thanks to the excellent level of the team’s star signing, flameZ, they sealed the victory (16-3), winning the first four rounds by switching sides to score their first victory of this second half of the season.

Complexity apply a reverse sweep to NiP

The second match of this BLAST Premier Fall Groups left us with many emotions, as it was evenly matched from start to finish. However, after a NiP victory on the first map, Complexity woke up to apply a reverse sweep and take the victory by 2-1.

It all started on Inferno, the COL map pick, where we had an intense and exciting match. The first half ended with a tight score of 8-7 in favor of NiP on their CT side. Then, at the change of sides, the equality would continue to the point that the map got 12-12 at some point. However, the firepower of Hampus “hampus” Poser was instrumental in NiP managing to take a narrow 16-14 victory.

Then, in the second map, Nuke, things continued the same as in the first map, with total equality between these two teams. In the first half, we saw COL take a partial victory by 8-7 on their CT side. However, this time, EliGE took his team by the hand on the T side to take the victory by 16-12, thus equalizing the series 1-1.

Finally, it all ended in Overpass, where we enjoyed a really exciting and evenly matched map once again. For the third consecutive map, the first-half score was 8-7 in favor of NiP. However, COL surprised everyone with a mind-blowing T-side to win nine rounds and thus take the victory by 16-13.
