Rambo Showcased in Mortal Kombat 11 Gameplay Trailer!

From the moment Rambo was announced as a DLC fighter for Mortal Kombat 11, it was hard not to wonder how he’d translate into the game. Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait long to find out! Simply put: he’s a perfect fit for the world of MK. Heck, maybe that’s even an understatement.

If you’ve watched until the end, you’re probably thinking “yeesh,” and rightfully so. Rambo is as aggressive, ferocious, and brutal as one would expect. This intriguing bit of gameplay sure does get the blood pumping, that’s for sure. Not only is this iconic 80’s movie star voiced by the legendary actor himself, but he’s also a pretty layered fighter it seems like. We’ve even gotten a short glimpse at Rambo vs. Terminator, a dream match-up if there ever was one.

A Wide Array of Weapons

As expected, he relies heavily on both ranged attacks (bow and arrows, machine guns, etc.) but also close quarter combat seeing how he’s equipped with the OG Rambo knife. That is perhaps his most prominent weapon, if this trailer is any indication. And of course, seeing how this is Rambo after all, there are multiple traps and explosives within his kit as well. NetherRealm Studios really went all out! His crawling move will also come in handy if you’re under fire and need to evade incoming projectiles.

His fatality, however, takes the cake as the most disgusting thing you’ll see in a while. Maybe we’re even cutting it short here. After throwing a knife into his opponent’s chest, they’ll walk backwards and trigger a trap that’ll impale them. Rambo then appears from the back and rips their throat out barehanded. Dramatic? Sure. Mind-blowingly awesome? Absolutely.

About as theatrical as expected, and just in line with expectations gore-wise. Mortal Kombat was never for the faint-hearted, after all!
