The IESF WEC 2023 CS:GO is history, and, against many odds, Team Sweden pulled off a solid 2-0 victory over Team Germany to be crowned tournament champions.
Undoubtedly, it was a truly spectacular event with top-level CS:GO. However, the results may have been as expected, as Germany and Sweden were filled with players playing on Tier 1 and 2 teams in the competitive CS:GO scene.
On the other hand, in addition to the Grand Final match, there was also the match for third place, where Team Serbia took a resounding 2-0 victory over Team Uzbekistan to finish in the TOP 3 of the table.
With all these results, we have that Team Sweden are the champion of the IESF WEC 2023 or, what is the same, the new CS:GO world champion.
Let’s see what happened in the IESF WEC 2023 Grand Final match between Sweden and Germany.
Team Sweden crush Team Germany to become the IESF WEC 2023 Champions
The Grand Final’s emotions were palpable, as two great squads would fight to lift the world champions trophy. However, Sweden had a better look and display in the series, which helped them take a solid 2-0 victory to proclaim themselves champions of the IESF WEC 2023. On the other hand, it is also fair to mention that Germany did not keep their arms crossed and fought until the end, but this was not enough, and they conceded.
Mirage
The Grand Final started in Mirage, Team Germany’s map pick, where we could see the best of each side. Sweden started very well in the first half and quickly took a 5-1 lead. However, Germany hit back by winning 8 of the next 9 rounds to take a 9-6 partial victory. Then, at the change of sides, Sweden won the necessary rounds even to score 15-15.
Finally, after 6 rounds in Overtime, Team Sweden took the 19-17 victory to start the series on the right foot.

Inferno
Next, the teams moved to Inferno, where we also had a very exciting match from start to finish. However, it all went Team Sweden’s way, as, in the first half, they started with a solid 12-3 that, without a doubt, gave them the confidence to continue very strong in this series.
Finally, at the change of sides, Team Germany tried to come back by winning some rounds on their T-side, but this was not enough, and Sweden closed the map with an excellent 16-9 victory. As a result, Team Sweden are crowned as the CS:GO world champions.
