The German telecommunications company Telekom has teamed up with the esports player foundation, as well as Riot Games and SK Gaming to create the Equal Esports Cup in League of Legends for women and non-binary players!
With the Equal Esports Cup there are now even more opportunities on the German esports scene for players of marginalized genders to live out their passion on a big stage.
The new mode of the Equal Esports Cup
The Equal Esports Cup is a League of Legends competition for women and non-binary players who don’t identify as males. This year, the format of the cup has changed a bit. There are 11 seeded teams, a flexible slot that is yet to be allocated and an additional 4 teams qualify via the Open Qualifier for the Closed Qualifier.
The four teams that will earn the most points after the qualifiers will get a spot in the Grand Final of the Equal eSports Festival Vol. 3. There they play for €10,000 in prize money.
