The International 2023 (TI12) winner, Team Spirit, has turned down a kind gesture from popular adult influencer and model Eva Elfie to donate a sum of $25,000.

Following a decade-low final payout for The International 2023, Elfie declared she will be launching a stand-alone campaign through her OnlyFans to raise money for the prize fund. But Team Spirit, the winner of The International 2023 (TI12), has turned down her donation of $25,000 USD, as the influencer disclosed on Twitter.

Team Spirit turns down Eva Elfie’s offering

Eva Elfie’s presence in the gaming community has garnered attention recently, suggesting that she is becoming more interested in and involved in the esports business. She attended The International 2022 in Singapore and backed Tundra Esports. At this year’s TI12 in Seattle, Eva Elfie is providing assistance to Talon Esports.

As TI12’s finals approached, Eva Elfie made a notable pledge to support the players by offering her earnings to The International’s winner. This kind gesture was made in response to criticism that this year’s International competition received for having a noticeably smaller prize pool than in prior years, which broke records.

Just $3,131,806 was raised for the International 2023, with $1,409,312—or 45% of the total—going to Team Spirit. Even if this figure is enormous across all esports, it falls in comparison to the past TIs. Even the international winners took home three times as much money from July’s Riyadh Masters 2023 as they did from taking first place in the largest Dota 2 tournament of the year.

Recognizing this, Eva took the staggering decision to add the money she earned from TI12’s last three days to the prize fund of The International 2023 (TI12). She said in her posts that the compendium in-game item, which is being used to crowdfund The International 12’s prize pool, has disappointed a lot of gamers. Additionally, Elfie stayed in the arena during the tournament to lift everyone’s spirits—especially in the Seattle rain that fell on occasion.

Elfie made content with Dota 2 players in Seattle during those three days, which helped her Only Fans get new subscribers and make a total of $20,000. Adding $5000 out of her own pocket, the influencer offered the $25,000 to the winners of the International. But when the Influencer inquired about proceeding with the money, Spirit “refused to take it” and left with a little more than $1.4 million after winning their second Aegis of Champions at TI12.
