Team Liquid crushed Counter Logic Gaming in week 7 of the LCS Spring split stage to register themself as the third team to qualify for the LCK playoffs. With this blowout loss, CLG is now on the verge of elimination from the playoffs with a record of 5-10.

Team Liquid’s consistent performance in the recent weeks rewarded them with a ticket to the LCK playoffs. They represented the NA region in the 2021 League of Legends World Championship and now they have officially made it to the regional playoffs, again.

Team Liquid was composed while they were trying to take control of the game from the very first moment. CLG kept struggling during the team fight and despite some good individual performance and decent efforts by some of the CLG players, the team failed to hold their ground and fell within 23 minutes of the game.

Team Liquid’s Top Laner ‘Bwipo’ with Tryndamere showcased a brilliant performance with a scoreline of 6/2/6. Meanwhile, Jungler Santori and Danish Mid laner ‘Bjergsen’ both had 5 kills, 1 death, and 9 assists in the game. The rest of the two players of Team Liquid “Hans Sama” and “CoreJJ” played a significant role and assisted with almost every kills Team Liquid picked in the game.

Who will rule the LCS standings?

Team Liquid is currently in second place in the points standings, and the team still has a chance to overtake Cloud9 for first place. Meanwhile, Cloud9 will strive to maintain its LCS supremacy in the upcoming matches. However, both teams have four games scheduled for the current week to see who will reign supreme in the LCS standings.

Team Liquid will face FlyQuest, Golden Guardians, Dignitas, and TSM this week (which is also the final week of the playoffs). Cloud9, on the other side, will face CLG, Dignitas, FlyQuest, and Squad 100T with an intent to avert relinquishing Team Liquid to the top place.

There is still a chance for CLG to qualify

After the defeat, CLG dropped down to 8th position with a 5-9 record and the team will face Cloud 9, Immortals, TSM, and team Evil Geniuses in their next matches. Although CLG is not technically disqualified from the League, their only shot to enter the playoffs currently is to win every game they play in Week 8 of the LCS and hope the other teams sitting above them lose their upcoming game.

According to the current rankings, EG, Guardians, and Dignitas are all tied for fifth place with a 7- 8 record, and all three teams must have to improve their game in order to capture one of the three remaining playoff positions. Nevertheless, it is certainly going to be an exciting week for the fans, with supercharged matchups and legendary rosters.
