The Worlds 2023 Play-In Phase is history, and we have Team BDS securing an extraordinary victory over PSG Talon 3-2 to seal their place in the Swiss Stage of the tournament.

Team BDS was one of the teams called to qualify for the Swiss Stage, as the LEC is a dominant league in the LoL scene. However, the team got off to a very bad start in the tournament by losing its first match. Eventually, the team relied on their superstar, Juš “Crownie” Marušič, to complete a spectacular comeback against PSG to qualify for the tournament’s next stage.

We don’t know if it was overconfidence or relaxation from PSG Talon or simply a big push of confidence and determination from Team BDS. What we do know is that it was a mind-blowing series that had many incredible moments and, of course, filled us with emotions.

Let’s see what happened between Team BDS and PSG Talon in the defining match of the Worlds 2023 Play-In Round 2 match.

Team BDS applied a reverse sweep to beat PSG Talon and qualify for the Swiss Stage of Worlds 2023

We expected a duel of titans with a lot of intensity and emotions, and the teams did not disappoint. Each player left blood, sweat, and tears in this series to lead their team to victory. However, the determination, courage, and drive of Team BDS and the entire LEC helped the Swiss squad come from behind to win the series 3-2.

PSG Talon started the series with extraordinary play to win the first two games. While Team BDS put up a good fight in the first game (34:28 minutes), they felt the fury of Huang “Maple” Yi-tang and Tsou “Wako” Wei-yang in the second game to start the series down by a terrible score of 0-2.

As we can see, PSG Talon had triple Match Points, as they were just one win away from the last place in the Swiss Stage. However, the Swiss team woke up immediately, thanks to Crownie, and started coming back gradually.

The third match lasted 40:39 minutes, so we can see that it was hard-fought. Finally, Team BDS won match 3 and 4 to tie the series 2-2 and play the fifth and last map.

Finally, Team BDS and PSG Talon gave us a great game on the fifth map (43:54 minutes), but the Swiss relied on Crownie and the French Ilias “nuc” Bizriken to take the victory. As a result, Team BDS won the last place for the Swiss Stage that starts next October 19, where they will face JD Gaming.
