The VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: EMEA Stage 1 has reached the halfway point, and it’s time for us to rank the capabilities of each participant in a power ranking. Here is how Fragster would rank the eleven teams at the event.

#1 Natus Vincere

Current Record: 3-0

The championship-winning squad from FunPlus Phoenix has reunited at Na’Vi. Unfortunately, the boys could not qualify for VCT Masters Madrid, but it seems like they were just shaking off the rust.

After getting some time to practice, the Na’Vi roster is back in full force and is the only team in the league to remain undefeated. With a 3-0 record, the Ukrainian organization has almost guaranteed a spot in the Playoffs stage of Split 1.

The greatest part about the Na’Vi roster is how strong their mental strength is. They were down 1-10 in the match against Team Liquid and made an insane comeback to win the map and series.

#2 FUT Esports

Current Record: 2-1

FUT Esports started the tournament strong with a 2-0 record, defeating the likes of Team Liquid and Karmine Corp, some of the top competitors in the tournament.

However, the Turkish squad took a tumble against Team Vitality in a 2-1 series to put them with two wins and one loss. Still, the team’s star Duelist, cNed, is in shape and ready to dominate. He carried the team through two of the three matches and is not looking to stop there.

Many personalities in the Valorant scene anticipate FUT to make a breakthrough in the international scene by putting on a show in this Split 1 event.

#3 Karmine Corp

Current Record: 2-2

The young Karmine Corp roster won the previous EMEA league, so it’s hard to count them out. Their Group Stage record is currently sitting at 2-2, but this isn’t too alarming as they were defeated by Na’Vi and FUT, arguably the two strongest teams at the moment.

Karmine Corp is expected to sweep their remaining matches and easily qualify for the Playoffs. In the VCT Kickoff tournament, we also saw KC struggle in Groups, but they turned up when it mattered.

The biggest drawback of the team is the inexperience of the players. However, with hands-on experience against international competition at Madrid, Karmine Corp is looking to come back even stronger.

#4 Fnatic

Current Record: 3-1

Considered the best team in 2023, Fnatic failed to find much success at the start of the year. They failed to qualify for VCT Masters Madrid after losing to Karmine Corp. Fans thought the Fnatic era was over, but they are back for redemption.

The community was concerned when Boaster and company dropped the opening series against Team Heretics, but Derke took the loss personally and started to frag out. Despite catching a lot of backlash, the Finn dominated the last two matches against Gentle Mates and Movistar KOI.

However, Fnatic has yet to play against the region’s top dogs, so we must wait to see how they fare.

#5 Team Vitality

Current Record: 2-1

Though Team Vitality didn’t pose too much of a threat in the Kickoff event, they have gradually improved to become a real competitor.

The international roster started their Split 1 campaign, tanking a loss to Shao and Na’Vi. After getting pushed down, Team Vitality got back up to win two matches in a row against Team Heretics and FUT, two of the top teams in the region.

In the series against Team Heretics, Vitality showed they were a good team and could compete at the top of the EMEA region.

#6 Team Heretics

Current Record: 1-2

Team Heretics accompanied Karmine Corp in Madrid and was the second-best EMEA team at the VCT Kickoff. However, they have begun struggling in the first Split.

They are clinging onto a negative win-loss ratio despite defeating Fnatic in the first match. They were taken down by Team Vitality in a close match. However, Team Heretics showed vulnerability against BBL after a massive 0-2 upset.

Team Heretics generally have good game plans but tend to struggle to adapt to new ideas if things start going south. This is likely due to the inexperience of the youths on the roster.

#7 Team Liquid

Current Record: 2-2

Team Liquid recently appointed Keiko as the team’s new Duelist, who had an explosive debut in the Kickoff event. However, the boys in blue are yet to accomplish anything meaningful with the new iteration of the roster.

Despite being in a 2-2 record, Team Liquid remain in a decent position, as both losses come from FUT and Na’Vi, two teams we’ve ranked at the top.

Their remaining matches are against Team Heretics and Gentle Mates. Team Liquid must win at least one of their next two matches to have a shot at Playoffs.

#8 BBL Esports

Current Record: 2-1

Most people don’t think the BBL Esports roster is any good. Though it would be safe to agree, BBL has shaken things up in the league after two consecutive wins. One against KOI, which isn’t too big of a surprise, but a strong 2-0 victory against Team Heretics.

Though BBL is still at the bottom of the list, they have at least grabbed the attention of fans. QuitonerX went absolutely mental in the series against Heretics, going 31/17/4 on the second map with a 1.60 rating.

If the Turkish Duelist can replicate such a performance, we can see BBL deal some damage.

#9 Gentle Mates

Current Record: 1-2

The Gentle Mates aren’t too big of a threat in the EMEA region. On paper, they are likely to defeat teams that are below them, but not any teams above them.

It’s very unlikely that we’re going to see Gentle Mates make it to the Playoffs, as there is almost no chance they will defeat their remaining matchups, Team Liquid and Team Vitality.

The French Duelist nataNk hasn’t been playing too badly, consistently becoming the highest rated player in the team. However, the rest of the team must step up and help if they want any chance of advancing further.

#10 GIANTX

Current Record: 0-3

GIANTX recruited a new player, purp0, ahead of the Split 1 tournament. However, the team continues to disappoint as they are yet to win a series in 2024.

They have shown some improvement since their last appearance at VCT Kickoff, but the progress is not yet enough to take on the top teams in the league. Most fans have counted them out, especially when they are down 0-3.

There aren’t too many hopes and expectations for GIANTX, and they will need a miracle to even have a chance at the Playoffs.

#11 Movistar KOI

Current Record: 0-3

Most EMEA fans can agree that KOI is the weakest team in the tournament.

Popular content creator Thinking Man’s Valorant expressed his dissatisfaction with watching the Spanish organization play. He mentioned that KOI’s match against BBL was one of the worst games he had seen.

Movistar KOI is currently 0-6 in maps and 0-3 in matches. They were stomped in almost every map they played and have zero chance of making it to the next stage.
