With the imminent arrival of CS2 in the summer of 2023, it is unsurprising that many of the legends of CS:GO, or Counter-Strike in general, want to return to the competitive scene to fight at the highest possible level. One of these legends is Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, one of the most veteran, successful and well-known players in the game’s community, who stated in one of his latest streams that he is ready to return.

Remember that f0rest is one of the game’s legends since his days in Counter-Strike 1.6 back in 2003. After 19 years of playing actively as a professional, f0rest decided to step aside to dedicate himself to content creation in mid-2022. Finally, following the announcement of the CS2 release, the legend seems more ready than ever to come out of retirement and play at the highest competitive level in CS2.

F0rest announces that he wants to return to the competitive scene in CS2

In one of his latest streams on his Twitch channel, Swedish Counter-Strike legend f0rest stated that he is ready to return to the competitive scene. However, the 35-year-old Swede’s statements give a bit of regret because, even though he remains actively playing daily, he has not received any offer from any organization. In addition, in the broadcast, he said he tried to find a new team during the player’s break this summer. But, nothing is coming, so f0rest thinks his chances of returning are further away than ever.

Then, in the clip, we can hear that f0rest also states that he doesn’t know how long he will be searching for a home in some organization to play at the highest competitive level. The words of f0rest were exactly:

“I don’t know how long we’ll be able to keep that door open.”

However, f0rest said that he still has a lot to give for Counter-Strike and, if any team allows him to play again as a professional, he will give everything he has to lead them to victory. Finally, f0rest ends by mentioning that he is crazy to play competitively again.

About f0rest

All of us in the competitive scene and the Counter-Strike community generally know f0rest’s career perfectly. As we mentioned, he began 2003 playing CS 1.6 with a team called da4ce.

From that moment on, f0rest consummated himself as one of the best CS 1.6 players, winning many championship titles and being awarded MVP in several of them.

Then, when CS:GO came into our lives, we also witnessed the success of this legend with NiP, including the win at ESL One Cologne 2014.

The 35-year-old Swede had a huge opportunity to prove that he still has fuel in the tank a few weeks ago when he replaced Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson in Fnatic at IEM Dallas 2023. However, the team underperformed from the start of the tournament, and f0rest finished as one of the worst players, according to HLTV.

Valve remains silent regarding the official release date of CS2, so we can assume that the plans to release it in the summer of 2023 are still in place. However, as the second part of the season is about to start, most teams have already formed their lineups. As a result, time is running out for f0rest if it wants to find a new home to play at the highest competitive level again.
