T1 revamp Valorant roster with the addition of K1ng, xcurrate, and iZu

In the wake of a disappointing performance in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023, T1 has restructured its VALORANT roster, adding three new players to the team ahead of the new season.

T1’s decision to make significant changes to its VALORANT roster was primarily motivated by a series of disappointing performances and underwhelming results in the 2023 season. Their struggles were most evident in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023 (VCT 2023), where they endured an early exit without securing a single victory. This disappointment was earlier echoed in VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo, as T1 was unable to progress beyond the group stage.

In response, T1 took a bold step by releasing the majority of its VALORANT roster, including Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom, Joseph “ban” Seungmin Oh, and Kang “iNTRO” Seung-gyun. T1’s management, well-prepared for this transition, promptly introduced three new talents to the roster. Kevin “xccurate” Susanto, Lee “k1Ng” Seung-won, and Ham “iZu” Woo-ju are the fresh faces tasked with rejuvenating T1’s competitive presence.

T1’s revamped Valorant roster for the 2024 VCT season

The newcomers bring a diverse range of experiences to T1’s roster. Kevin “xccurate” Susanto stands as a significant addition to T1’s VALORANT lineup. With a distinguished background in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), Kevin’s transition to VALORANT comes with a wealth of experience in the FPS gaming scene. He previously competed with prestigious Asian CS:GO teams, notably TYLOO and Team NKT.

On the other hand, Lee “k1Ng” Seung-won arrives at T1 with a rich history in competitive Valorant. His journey began in 2020 when he joined the Vision Strikers core, now known as DRX. Over time, he ventured into different teams, such as Incheon On Sla2ers, and eventually found a spot with Gen.G’s roster. K1Ng’s proficiency as a sentinel player adds a strategic dimension to T1’s roster.

The last addition, iZu is a dynamic player with a reputation for his explosive duelist skills. His earlier stint with Jadeite showcased his potential, as the team gained prominence in the Japanese VALORANT scene. Their journey included a close call in qualifying for VCT Pacific: Ascension, which highlighted iZu’s ability to shine on the competitive stage. Following Jadeite’s journey, iZu’s search for a new team concluded with T1, where he aims to continue his ascent as a formidable duelist.

As T1 commences this new chapter, their revised roster consists of:
