ESL One Birmingham Day 2 Results

On day 2 of ESL One Birmingham, the situation became dire for some of the tournament’s favorites. Gaimin Gladiators obtained just two points in their first four matches and with only one match left to be played, they seem to have zero chances left to advance to the playoffs.

Xtreme Gaming are in a slightly better position because they’ve gained three points so far. However, the two defeats they suffered on day 1 are likely to lead them as well to an early elimination. This is quite shocking given the fact that Ame and his squad won Elite League by defeating Team Falcons in the Grand Final 3 – 1 just a few weeks ago.

In the other group of ESL One Birmingham, Falcons are in a risky position. With just one match left to be played, they have just four points and will play another team with four points, Talon Esports. If they win, their playoffs spot is secured. But if they draw, the situation gets complicated.

So far, Falcons haven’t won a single match at this tournament. They drew four times, just like Team Spirit, and have demonstrated that they are hard to beat in a best-of-two. But the lack of clear victories suggests that they are not in great shape right now.

In group A of ESL One Birmingham, Shopify Rebellion have two points after four matches and the team above them has four. This pretty much means that their run will end after today.

Falcons, Talon, and G2.iG currently have four points each, so their final match of the group stage will determine their fate.

For BetBoom Team and Team Liquid, who have five points each, qualification is not yet guaranteed but it’s close. The only problem is that they’ll have to play against each other in the last match of the group stage. Ideally, each team should win one game in order for both of them to qualify.

In group B, HEROIC, OG, and Tundra Esports have five points each after the first four matches. All three of them obtained one clean victory and three draws, proving that they are stronger than we previously thought.

Spirit have four points, while Xtreme (three points) and Gladiators (2 points) are struggling to avoid elimination. In the last round of matches, Gladiators will play against HEROIC, Xtreme will have to defeat Tundra, while OG will compete against Spirit.
