Riot Games has revealed a teaser for the following League of Legends in-game event — the fan-favourite Star Guardian. Fans can look forward to the popular League skin line coming to the game next month.

According to Riot’s official teaser trailer, The Star Guardian 2022 event will start on Thursday, July 14.

Return to Valoran City

The video titled Return to Valoran City features Star Guardian-themed pictures and scenes in a modern anime art style. Most of the trailer consists of street shots of a quiet, seemingly empty city, along with empty school grounds shots.

Just before the end of the video, a woman figure with long pink hair and a Star Guardian emblem around her neck appears. The trailer concludes by showing the Star Guardian logo image along with the League of Legends, Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra logos, likely hinting that the event could arrive in all three titles.

Following the teaser trailer, Riot has also released a video with the Star Guardian 2022 official orchestral theme music.

Skins for the Star Guardian line of skins, one of the most popular skin lines in League of Legends, were released for the last time two years ago. New Star Guardian skins, cosmetics and in-game activities are expected to be released along with the event next month.

What Star Guardian skins should we expect?

While Riot hasn’t released any details regarding the event, rumour has it that a variety of champions will be getting skins during this year’s Star Guardian event. While names like Caitlyn, Ekko, and Kai’Sa have all been debated for quite some time, there are other champions less expected to get on the list, out of which Fiddlesticks is probably the biggest surprise. According to the community talk, Fiddlesticks will either be a part of the Star Guardian universe or become a Star Guardian himself.

Will Taliyah get another blue skin?

Who knows, but fans are hoping she actually gets a Star Guardian skin because it would fit the concept of the surfing star well. Akali and Kai’Sa should also receive Legendary skins, although Kai’Sa’s model was leaked months ago.

According to the leaks, many champions are likely to get new skins, which might result in the event spanning across at least two patches. Along with two Prestige skins, two Legendary skins should also be released, likely split up just like Riot did with the High Noon event earlier this year.
