The group stage of BetBoom Dacha is over and the results are as surprising as they could have been. In both groups, both favorites were eliminated from the tournament.

Group A results

In group A, the favorites were Cloud9 and GamerLegion. The two teams had to compete against each other in the opening matches, leaving MIBR to fight against BetBoom Team.

For BetBoom, this was a great opportunity to get a good result against one of the best Brazilian teams and demonstrate that they are now much stronger thanks to the signing of nafany and the rest of the crew. Apart from the coach, everyone joined BetBoom on July 31 and since then, the team had a decent result at IEM Sydney (5th – 6th) and CCT Central Europe Series #8 (1st).

This tournament, which carries BetBoom’s name, might end up being their third success of 2023. But the first match went poorly: 13 – 5 on Ancient and 13 – 1 on Nuke. MIBR won almost without fighting at all.

In the other match, Cloud9 showed GamerLegion who’s boss and won both maps decisively: 5 – 13 on Overpass and 3 – 13 on Mirage. But in the winners, match, they lost against MIBR (1 – 2) and had to play a decider match against BetBoom, who had an amazing performance and won 2 – 0. Apart from electroNic, everyone struggled on C9’s side.

Group B results

In group B, Astralis and FURIA lost in the opening matches, creating a situation where at least one of them was going to be eliminated in the group stage. After a thrilling first map, won by FURIA 17 – 19, the second map was extremely one-sided and finished 5 – 13. Despite their best efforts, Astralis were out of the race.

But nobody expected FURIA to get eliminated as well. However, Team Spirit came very well prepared and won 2 – 0: 16 – 12 on Ancient and 13 – 8 on Mirage. Their best player was donk, whose 56 – 28 / 1.76 personal score was absolutely impressive. He had 18 kills more than FURIA’s KSCERATO and 14 kills more than his teammate zont1x.

FURA can attribute this failure to fatigue, while Astralis can also find a good excuse. After all, they changed their roster significantly just days before the event. It remains to be seen if these two teams will play better in 2024. For both of them, 2023 has ended.
