Following the release of its main Dota 2 roster earlier this month, Gambit Esports has now also announced the release of its secondary roster, without plans of returning to the Dota 2 scene in the near future.
The team, consisting of Vasilii “AfterLife” Shishkin, Alexey “Smiling Knight” Sviridov, Maksym “mellojul” Pnev, Oleg “sayuw” Kalenbet and Nikita “Pantomem” Balaganin, will compete in the final Tour of Dota Pro Circuit under the One Move tag.
Today we bid farewell to #GambitDota2. The team will continue competing together under One Move tag.
Together with us they earned two second place finishes at #D2CL and qualified for the first division of #DPCEEU.

From Gambit to One Move
The newly formed One Move line-up have been playing together under the Gambit flag since November 2021, when they were signed as a new hope for the Russian organization that previously failed to qualify for Dota 2’s biggest global event, The International 10. The team recently qualified for promotion from Division II and will continue playing under the new banner in Division I of the DPC Eastern Europe Tour 3, which has been postponed indefinitely due to the Russian war in Ukraine.
Team One Move commented in their Telegram post:
“A new stage in the history of the team begins. We are no longer in Gambit. The name under which we won the second division of the DPC EEU – One Move, becomes our permanent one. We sincerely thank the Gambit Esports club for their support, who believed in our team all this time and thanks to which the team appeared.”
“Since October last year, we have done a lot of work and do not plan to leave everything halfway. All players and coaching staff will continue to work together. Now a pool of team partners is being formed, which we will announce as soon as everything is ready.”
Gambit downsizing
The release of the Gambit line-up follows the release of the organization’s Dota 2 roster AS Monaco Gambit earlier on May 2. Before the release, the team consisting of Albert “alberkaaa” Chernoivanov, Artem “Lorenof” Melnick, Andrei “meLes” Romanov, Aleksandr “Immersion” Khmelevskoi and Sergey “HappyDyurara” Horonzhiy, have been playing in the second division of the Eastern European DPC.
While alberkaaa, HappyDyurara and Immersion found their new home with team Wayfarers, meLes has been signed by Team Empire and Lorenof is currently still without a team.
Today we bid farewell to #ASMGMB #GambitDota2. Team’s players and coach enter free agency. We would like to thank them for representing our organization and wish them luck in future endeavors.

Gambit Dota 2 teams were not the only rosters that recently parted ways with the organization. In April, Gambit’s whole CS:GO was transferred to Cloud9 and the org also announced parting way with its Fortnite players. These changes are likely a result of uncertain times for the Russian organization as the war in Ukraine continues.
