On the last day of the Overwatch League 2023 season, the organizers gave out different awards to value the performance and quality of some players throughout the season.
Two of these awards are the MVP of the season and the Dennis Hawelka Award, which is given to the player who “brings the most positivity” to the community. Now, for the first time in OWL history, the same player wins both awards, Ham “Someone” Jeong-wan.
There is no doubt that Someone was one of the pillars of the Florida Mayhem all season long, and in addition to these two awards, he helped the team to be crowned OWL 2023 champions.
Someone wins the OWL 2023 MVP and the Dennis Hawelka Award
On the season’s final day, the Overwatch League awarded the MVP and Dennis Hawelka awards to the Florida Mayhem’s tank, Someone.
From Pro-AM to Grand Finals, he was an unstoppable force all season long 🌟

The concept of MVP is the same in any case, whether it is a traditional sport or esports; that is, the player has performed the best throughout the season. Also, this is not only about the player’s individual performance, but the player has to bring talent to his team’s success.
Someone helped Florida win the Pro-Am tournament earlier in the season, and, playing with Winston, Reinhardt, and Sigma, he stole all the spotlight in the playoffs.
Someone’s happiness radiates to the Mayhem
On the other hand, the Dennis Hawelka award goes to Someone for his charisma and excellent (and funny, by the way) disposition since joining the Mayhem. The player is known for demonstrating his joy through dancing, prancing, or simply giving humorous statements in the various post-game interviews.
Like many players who have won the Dennis Hawelka Award, especially considering Kim “Sp9rk1e” Yeong-han, Someone radiates happiness all over the Mayhem. As a result, Someone became one of the community’s favorite players.
Finally, Someone crowned his happiness by leading Florida to an excellent victory in the OWL Championship 2023. In the semifinals, the Mayhem defeated Boston Uprising 3-1, while in the Grand Finals, they crushed the Houston Outlaws 4-0. However, in the Grand Finals, Someone could not display his full potential, as the MVP went to teammate Choi “MER1T” Tae-min.
