BurNIng returns to China DPC with the newly-formed Falling Faint squad 

Hours before the DPC closed the rosters for Tour 2 Season 2023 last weekend, something the Dota 2 community wasn’t expecting came up. One of the most legendary players in the Chinese Dota 2 scene, Xu “BurNIng” Zhilei, returns from retirement after five years to play under the banner of a new team called Falling Faint.

The 34-year-old Team Aster co-founder joins forces with Ren “old eLeVeN” Yangwei to create this team that will surely be part of the DPC CN 2023 Tour 2: Open Qualifier.

Burning and old eLeVeN create a new team called Falling Faint

After five years and a bit more of being in retirement, BurNIng decides it’s time to return to the DPC servers as a player under the Falling Faint banner. The Dota 2 community has always been very teased on the subject of Chinese region players retiring, as it is a fact that many of them return to the game after a year or two. However, with BurNIng, it will be completely different, as the player and co-founder of Team Aster has been on the sidelines for more than five years.

As we mentioned, a few hours before the official closing of the DPC rosters was made this weekend, a new roster was registered to Valve’s team registration page. To the surprise of many, the lineup consisted of two veteran players, BurNIng and old eLeVeN. The published roster looks as follows:

• Deng “Dstones” Lei
• Chen “Cty” Tianyu
• Ren “old eLeVeN” Yangwei
• Liu “yoona” Xiangkun
• Xu “BurNIng” Zhilei

There is still no official information on these teams’ roles in the Chinese DPC circuit. However, BurNIng will likely take on its favorite role, Carry. On the other hand, Cty may be in charge of controlling the Mid Lane.

Ren “old eLeVeN” Yangwei is a player who needs no introduction to Dota 2 fans. But, for those who don’t remember, this player participated in every TI from 2016 to 2021. Yoona is a 28-year veteran with two years off the servers, and Dstones played for Ybb Gaming until August 2022.
