After years of competing as a trio, Abed, Cr1t-, and Fly have finally been separated. Or at least, that’s what appears to be the case. Perhaps they will stay together and form a new team in North America, but it’s much more likely that Abed will go his own way while Cr1t- and Fly will join a different team.

There’s some chance that even the two of them will be separated by various organizations. In any case, both are exceptionally good and will constitute great signings for almost any org. The only question is: who will want them at this particular moment in time?

The problem is that Dota 2’s esports scene is falling apart. There’s very little to look forward to until the next edition of The International. Perhaps ESL, PGL, and other tournament organizers will save the situation. But so far, only one tournament has been announced for December 2023. Other than that, there’s nothing planned for the foreseeable future.

The two remaining players

Arteezy and SabeRLight- were kept on the roster, which is an indication that Shopify wants to continue this project and will not simply abandon Dota 2. But who could join them? Will Sumail come back to North America? Or will some other former NA legends return?

It’s difficult to predict what will happen next. There’s also a possibility that some of the former nouns members will be offered the opportunity to play for Shopify Rebellion. In particular, Gunnar, Moo, and Lelis are all excellent players. The only problem is that Moo is an offlaner, and SabeRLight- is already occupying that position.

Arteezy was kept because he’s one of the best carry players in the world. He’s also one of the most famous Dota 2 players in the world, which makes his presence ideal not just for competitive but also for marketing reasons. His streams are regularly followed by thousands of people, so it makes perfect sense for Shopify to keep him on the team.

What’s next for Fly

Fly is nearly 31 years old. He’s made $2.8 million just from tournament prize money, so he could comfortably retire if he wanted to. But someone with his personality will probably not give up that easily.

In Abed’s case, we know that Talon Esports dropped the entire roster and it’s perfectly possible that he may join 23savage and Jabz on their new adventure.

Cr1t- might return to OG, but nothing is known at this point.
