The CS:GO team SAW played 222 rounds in a single day; no doubt a very long day of play where the players must have been exhausted.

SAW played 222 rounds in a single day

CS:GO teams going to overtime in matches is completely normal. However, a couple of days ago, the CS:GO fan community was completely shocked after the Portuguese team SAW played 222 rounds in two series.

On the same day, the Portuguese team competed against Movistar Riders in the BetBoom Playlist Freedom 2023 and against 1WIN in the ESL Challenger League Season 45 Europe.

In each series, the Iberian squad had to play nine overtime. Thanks to all the overtime in the two matches, SAW played 222 rounds, a CS:GO marathon in one day.

The Portuguese team twice in Overpass, in addition to Vertigo, Nuke, Ancient, and Anubis.

For any CS:GO player, even a pro, it must be an exhausting journey to play 222 rounds in a single day. The average number of rounds per map was 37.

Unfortunately for the Portuguese team, they only managed to take one victory, and that was against Movistar Riders. While in the ESL Challenger League Season 45, SAW was eliminated by losing against 1WIN.

Hard work in Tier 2 pro scene

Teams that are part of tier 2 are famous for the effort and hard work they put in to improve their CS:GO skills. Although, usually, many teams compete monthly in different tournaments, thanks to them, some teams manage to take it really far.

The reward of the hard work of some level 2 teams has been demonstrated in the last CS:GO Major held in Paris, where four Tier 2 teams managed to compete in the Paris Major qualifiers.

  • GamerLegion
  • Apeks
  • Into the Breach
  • Monte

Best of all, each of the teams had an excellent performance, where GamerLegion got the second position, and Apeks got the fourth position. While Monte and Into the Breach placed sixth and eighth, respectively.

However, hard work can take its toll on players, as competing in different tournaments is exhausting for many. Even top professional players have admitted to being exhausted. For example, faZe Clan player Twistzz, after losing at IEM Rio a few months ago, commented that he felt really tired.

Recall that FaZe Clan has had a heavy day of tournaments since the RMR, the IEM Rio, and the Paris Major. As a result, the team has not really had time to rest.

Returning to the team that had an incredibly long day, we hope that SAW will have a quieter schedule and won’t have to repeat something similar on the same day.
