Plunder game mode returns to Warzone 2

Like DMZ and Resurgence mode in Warzone 2, Plunder mode became extremely popular in the original Warzone. However, in July 2022, Activision decided to remove it from the game, and since then, the community has been asking for the return of this extraordinary mode.

Well, the wait is over! In a few hours today, April 26, 2023, Plunder mode returns to Warzone 2, so many in the community must be jumping up and down with joy.

Activision officially announces the return of Plunder mode

While it’s true that Activision announced Plunder mode in the Warzone 2 Season 3 patches, we didn’t have an exact date for the release. However, on April 25, Activision shared a message on its Twitter account referring to the return of Plunder mode as of April 26, i.e., today.

If you don’t love Activision’s Battle Royale, Warzone 2, you probably don’t know what Plunder mode is all about.

This game mode first arrived in the original Warzone, and, unlike the Battle Royale and Resurgence modes, the objective of the matches is to collect money. That’s right, in this game mode, you will keep respawning until the time runs out or until a team manages to collect the limited amount of money, i.e., $2,000,000 in the game.

This game mode became very popular, especially in 2021, and has been one of the most acclaimed modes by the community since the release of Warzone 2.

What does Plunder mode work for in Warzone 2?

Since its launch in the original Warzone, Plunder mode was used by players to warm up for a few minutes before starting their Battle Royale adventure. In addition, this game mode also allows players to level up weapons to unlock all the accessories and be able to create the lethal classes that will lead them to victory in BR mode.

However, for this season 3 of Warzone 2, the Warzone 2 Ranked mode has also been announced. This means that Plunder becomes one of the fundamental aspects of the game, as it will be used by players who want to test the different classes against their enemies before facing the complicated battles in the Ranked mode.

It is also worth remembering that Ranked mode is not yet available in the game and is likely to arrive in a mid-season update.

Release date

As we mentioned, the release date for Plunder mode in Warzone 2 is today, April 26, 2023. While it is true that the times for the different regions of the world have not been published, we can deduce that it will be at the usual time, i.e., 19:00 CEST.

Plunder mode may bring back many players who have drifted away from the game for various reasons, as it will be something to remember from our days in Verdanks in 2021. On the other hand, it is likely that, along with the addition of the game mode, the long-awaited server bug fix updates will arrive, as it is no secret to anyone that they are becoming more and more constant.
