Overwatch 2 launched its very first seasonal event — Halloween Terror. As a part of the event, players can look forward to new skins, modes and a lot of chaos. The event is based on the previous Halloween terror events in the original Overwatch.

In the PvE mode Junkenstein’s Revenge: Wrath of the Bride, you can once again face off against the villain Dr. Take on Junkenstein and defeat Zomnics-Waves to save Eichenwalde.

Perhaps the spookiest part of Overwatch 2’s ongoing Halloween event is the pricing of cosmetics, particularly for highly anticipated skin that cannot be purchased individually.

Halloween Terror

The 2022 Halloween Terror in Overwatch 2 includes two smaller events: a Double EXP weekend running through October 28-31, and a series of Twitch Drops running until November 6. If you watch two or four hours of streams in the Overwatch 2 category, you will receive the Werewolf Winston Spray or Legendary Werewolf Winston Skin, which was introduced in the first Overwatch.

The event also brought back two heroes and a map to the game. Torbjörn and Bastion, as well as the escort map Junkertown, are now available again in all modes. All three suffered from bugs and were temporarily removed from the game to fix them.

Old and new skins

In addition to these limited-time modes, there are a number of old and new Halloween skins available for purchase in the in-game shop. Kiriko fans can get the Witch Kiriko skin, which contains the legendary skin of the same name. Another legendary skin is The Executioner Junker Queen, adding even more terror to the already feared queen.

Some of the most popular Halloween skins from the original Overwatch are also returning, including Flying Dutchman Sigma, Banshee Moira, and many more. Junker Queen’s new Executioner skin can be purchased alone, however, the same is not true for Kiriko’s Witch skin. It can only be purchased through a bundle that appears to cost almost $40.

Overpriced bundles?

Sold for 2,600 Overwatch Coins, the Witch Kiriko Bundle includes the new Seasonal Legendary Support Hero skin, along with a weapon charm, icon, name card, and Seasonal Highlight Intro. Unfortunately, none of these items can be purchased individually, and they can only be purchased with Overwatch Coins, which can either be earned in increments of 10 each week or purchased directly with real money.
