A dozen teams secure direct invites, anchored by a core from the previous Paris Major event.

The organizing body, PGL, has unveiled its selections for teams invited to partake in the Regional Major Ranking (RMR) events leading up to the highly anticipated Copenhagen Major. Notably, eleven slots within the European RMR circuit have been claimed, contrasting with just a single team being finalized for the Americas RMR.

Eligibility Criteria for European RMRs Post-Paris Major

Teams that advanced to the Legend Stage during the BLAST Paris Major automatically earn a berth in the RMR events, contingent upon retaining a minimum of three members from their last CS:GO Major outing. It’s pertinent to note that Heroic, Natus Vincere, Liquid, and fnatic fall short of this prerequisite.

A notable inclusion is Falcons, who secured a direct ticket into the European RMRs by assimilating the core lineup from the ENCE squad that graced the Paris stage. This strategic move saw the Finnish outfit onboard three talents from 9INE, solidifying their eligibility for an RMR invite.

Another standout invitee is Into the Breach, securing their spot in the Europe RMRs subsequent to the reintegration of Thomas “Thomas” Utting. His return reunites him with Joey “CRUC1AL” Steusel and Karol “rallen” Rodowicz, recollecting their commendable performance during the Paris Major’s quarterfinals.

Here’s a breakdown of the RMR invitations, reflecting the outcomes from the Paris Major:

Europe RMRs:

  • Europe FaZe
  • Europe GamerLegion
  • Kosovo Guild Eagle
  • Europe Into the Breach
  • Europe G2
  • Ukraine Monte
  • Europe Vitality
  • Poland ENCE
  • Europe Falcons
  • Europe Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • Europe Apeks

Americas RMR:

  • Brazil FURIA

The forthcoming Closed Qualifiers will decide the fate of 21 European squads and 15 from the Americas. Meanwhile, in the Asia-Pacific region, eight RMR slots will be allocated through regional qualification processes.

Earlier announcements from PGL have pinpointed the timelines and venues for the trio of RMR competitions. Specifically, the European RMR is set to unfold in Bucharest between February 14-24, the Asian leg is earmarked for Shanghai from February 26-28, and the Americas segment is slated for Monterrey spanning March 1 to 4.
