After two spectacular matches in the ESL Pro League S18 semifinals, two very inspired teams will be present in the tournament’s Grand Final. One of them is MOUZ, the European organization that has shown an exceptional level of play throughout the tournament in Malta. On this occasion, they achieved a 2-1 victory over ENCE to advance to the tournament’s Grand Final.

There is no doubt that this tournament has been a really good one for the MOUZ boys, but especially the Playoffs phase. MOUZ lost to MIBR in the first game in the Group Phase, which sent them to the Mid Bracket. Then, the team woke up and defeated Evil Geniuses, Heroic, and MIBR, scoring 2-0 to secure third place in the group.

Finally, in the playoffs, the team has left in the way very strong rivals such as FURIA, FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, and now ENCE, so there is no doubt that they justly deserve this classification.

On the other hand, we must also highlight ENCE’s level of play, as the team has been playing very well during the second half of the season and has managed to be in the TOP 4 in all the tournaments they have participated in.

Let’s see what happened in the ENCE and MOUZ match in the ESL Pro League S18 semifinals.

MOUZ secure its place in the Grand Final by beating ENCE 2-1

We expected a very intense and exciting series, and so it was, as either team could have won. However, MOUZ prevailed and, after 3 maps, managed to win 2-1 to qualify for the tournament’s Grand Final.

The series took place on Mirage, Vertigo, and Nuke.

Mirage

It all started on Mirage, MOUZ’s map pick, where we had a pitched battle and give and take from the beginning of the match.

MOUZ started very well in the first half by taking a partial victory on their T Side with a score of 10-5. However, ENCE woke up to the change of sides, and they got closer on the scoreboard 13-14. Finally, MOUZ could stop 2 consecutive attacks from ENCE to take the victory by 16-13.

Vertigo

On the second map, Vertigo, we witnessed another exciting match: MOUZ started very well with a partial victory in the first half on their T Side by 9-6.

There is no doubt that, at this point, we all imagined that MOUZ would win the map to close the series by 2-0. However, the ENCE boys thought completely different and, led by Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia, managed a spectacular comeback, winning 10 of the 12 rounds to take the victory by 16-11 and even the series 1-1.

Nuke

Finally, the teams met in Nuke to define the second finalist of the tournament.

In the first half, MOUZ showed their intentions by taking a solid 11-4 partial victory, which undoubtedly gave them the confidence and determination to seal their victory. Then, at the change of sides, MOUZ and ENCE had a give-and-take match for 9 rounds, but this undoubtedly favored MOUZ to seal their 16-8 victory and their qualification to the tournament’s Grand Final.
