The second week of the online qualifiers for the CDL Major IV is history, and we have OpTic Texas as the only undefeated team at this stage. So far in the qualifiers, OpTic Texas has shown a spectacular level of play, reaffirming that their arrival at the Major III grand final against Toronto Ultra was no coincidence.

In their last presentation, OpTic crushed another team, Los Angeles Thieves, playing very well in these qualifiers. In addition, they had previously beaten New York Subliners and London Royal Ravens.

Furthermore, this win for OpTic was in the Bounty Match of the week, so in addition to CDL Points, they took home $10,000.

OpTic makes a strong showing in the qualifiers

There is no doubt that, based on the level we have observed from the OpTic guys, they are the clear favorites to win this Major IV. In addition, they are shaping up to finish these qualifiers with a 5-0 balance, which would send them directly to the Winner’s Bracket. First, however, they will have to face LA Guerrillas and Boston Breach next weekend.

Mutineers and Guerrillas don’t know what a win is like

While it was all happiness for teams like OpTic, Thieves, and even Toronto, who won their first game of these qualifiers, we must remember that Mutineers and LA Guerrillas don’t know what a win is in these qualifiers.

The fact is not that they have not achieved a victory, but in the case of the Mutineers, they will only have one chance to do so. As a result, their chances of starting in the Winners Bracket no longer exist, and they will have to play for their lives from the Elimination Bracket in Major IV.

Toronto and London Royal Ravens can’t seem to get off the ground

A very similar story to the Mutineers and Guerrillas is being experienced again by the London Royal Ravens. This team has been at the bottom of the table in the first three Majors of the 2023 season, and it seems they are on the same path for this one. While it is true that the team managed to break their losing streak by beating Las Vegas Legion, they will need to beat the Subliners if they want to have any chance of starting in the Winners Bracket.

The most surprising thing we have seen in these two weeks of online qualifiers for Major IV has been the level of play of Toronto Ultra, the reigning champions. Unfortunately, the team has dropped their level of play so much that they have a 1-3 record, and their chances of being in the Winners Bracket go through crushing Las Vegas Legion and hoping for a favorable result in other games.

Currently, the CDL Stage 4 Major Qualifiers’ overall standings are as follows:

  1. OpTic Texas | 3-0 | 30p
  2. Los Angeles Thieves | 3-1 | 30p
  3. Minnesota RØKKR | 2-1 | 20p
  4. Atlanta FaZe | 2-1 | 20p
  5. Boston Breach | 2-1 | 20p
  6. Las Vegas Legion| 2-1 | 20p
  7. New York Subliners| 2-1 | 20p
  8. Seattle Surge | 2-1 | 20p
  9. Toronto Ultra | 1-3 | 10p
  10. London Royal Ravens | 1-3 | 10p
  11. Los Angeles Guerrillas | 0-3 | 0p
  12. Florida Mutinners | 0-4 | 0p

CDL Major IV Qualifiers action will return next weekend when we have the remaining ten games of these online qualifiers.
