Dota 2 patch 7.35 buffed a lot more heroes than it nerfed. This patch attempted to bring a lot of dead heroes back to life by making them viable again. The experiment didn’t succeed in all cases but it did succeed in enough of them to significantly change the meta.

In this guide, I will explore some of the biggest buffs introduced in Dota 2 patch 7.35, how they were reduced a bit in patch 7.35b, and what the impact was on a hero’s win rate and pick rate.

Abaddon

abaddon

Valve

His base armor was increased by 1, which is the equivalent of +6% HP against physical damage. Curse of Avernus, now also deals 50 DPS at level 4 if the curse procs. This adds a total of 200 damage to Abaddon’s damage output.

One major buff received by this hero is his level 10 talent. Aphotic Shield now gives +15 HP regen, which is a lot because it lasts for 15s and can be cast every 6s. This means that if you have enough mana, you get a permanent +15 HP regen.

At level 15, another talent gives you +80 Curse of Avernus DPS. This buff brings the damage output of the curse up to 130 per second or 520 for its 4s duration. That’s a lot for the mid portion of the game. You can realistically get to level 15 before the 20-minute mark, so you’ll be one of the strongest heroes on the map between the 20 and 30 minute marks.

Abaddon’s current win rate is around 56%, while his pick rate is almost 13%. He is one of the most successful heroes in the game. For those who have been playing Abaddon for years, his latest version feels extremely overpowered.

Leshrac

leshrac

Valve

Lesh received two important buffs in Dota 2 patch 7.35: +2 Diabolic Edict damage and +50 attack speed slow for Lightning Storm. In 7.35b, the second buff was rescaled to 20 – 50, while Split Earth was nerfed significantly, from 9s to 11s cooldown.

Despite the later nerfs, Leshrac went from being a dead hero to being a highly popular one, with a win rate of nearly 56%. Another thing that contributed to his success was the item changes introduced by patch 7.35. These changes made it easy for players to quickly make Lesh overpowered after the laning phase.

Clinkz

clinkz

Valve

Clinkz received major buffs in Dota 2 patch 7.35. And these buffs were not modified in any way in 7.35b. This hero now gains 2.7 agility per level instead of 2.5, and his Burning Barrage is very powerful. It costs just 40 mana instead of 45, and can be used every 17s instead of every 22s.

At level 20, Clinkz’s Death Pact talent gives him +350 HP instead of +300. And if you get to level 25, the cooldown of Strafe is reduced by 9s.

Thanks to these buffs, Clinkz is now a hero whose win rate is above 51%, while his pick rate is above 8%. Try it and see for yourself just a powerful he can be in the new meta.
