With the VCT Champions 2023 very close to its end, the season is also very close to finish, so many teams are already thinking about their future in the VCT 2024. This time, we go to the VCT Americas because one of its teams, NRG Esports, plans to renew its VALORANT squad for next season.

All these rumors arise after a disappointing end of the season, as the team could not have the expected success despite having a good lineup of players. Likewise, after the end of the season, we will have many players who will move to free agency, so they will have a lot to choose from.

NRG would make a radical change to its VALORANT lineup

According to George Geddes, the renowned esports journalist, NRG Esports will be releasing Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks, Sam “s0m” Oh, and Pujan “FNS” Mehta at the end of the 2023 season. As a result, Austin “crashies” Roberts and Victor “Victor” Wong would be the only members of the team to remain in the lineup for 2024.

While the departure of ardiis and s0m may be a big change in the team, there is no doubt that changing their IGL (FNS) is a radical change in the team’s strategy. However, we still won’t know how real these rumors are since teams must wait until next month before changing their lineups.

About NRG

There is no doubt that in the 2023 VCT season, NRG was very well standing in the NA competitive scene, as they have a great lineup. In addition, the team achieved a runner-up finish at the VCT Americas League and an impressive fourth place at the VCT Masters Tokyo.

Then, at VALORANT Champions 2023, fans were sure the team would be an exemplary representative for the Americas region. However, the opposite was true, as Bilibili Gaming crushed them in the Group C Decider Match. As a result, the team’s fans were very disappointed, even more so after Ardiis, in a Stream, mentioned that the Bilibili Gaming guys were “going home 100%”.

With this disappointing end, where they were eliminated from VCT Champions 2023 in the Group Stage, the North American organization would consider making radical changes in their VALORANT lineup. As we mentioned, after the end of the season, we will have many players of the highest level in free agency, starting with Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker and, above all, the Brazilian superstar Erick “aspas” Santos.

We can only wait for the VCT offseason to begin so that teams can make their moves for next season.
