Team Heretics secure its place in LEC Summer Split 2023 Group Stage

In addition to starting the month of July, last Saturday marked the beginning of the last week of the LEC Summer Split 2023 regular season, and we witnessed the excellent victory of Team Heretics against MAD Lions, thus sealing their ticket to the Group Stage.

On the other hand, KOI refuses to die and, thanks to a victory against Team Vitality, keeps their hopes of qualifying to the Group Stage alive. On the other hand, G2 Esports and Fnatic continue at the top of the table after winning their sixth tournament match. While, Vitality, SK Gaming, and Team BDS are very close to being eliminated.

KOI annihilate Vitality to stay alive in the tournament

After a worrying start of Split, the purple squad, KOI, has woken up, and in what a way, because it was now or never. In a really exciting match, KOI managed to beat Vitality for their third victory of the tournament, and, thanks to this, they are only one step away from qualifying for the Group Stage. On the other hand, Team Vitality has a 1-6 record and depends on a miracle to qualify.

The Spanish squad pulled out all the stops in this match against Vitality and neutralized Kacper “Daglas” Dagiel, who could not show his level of play after being promoted from the Academy. In addition, Team Vitality did not control at any time the pressure exerted by Emil “Larssen” Larsson, and they saw how KOI destroyed their base in very few minutes.

G2 and Fnatic crush their rivals to continue to show great dominance

In this final week of the regular season, teams needing wins may be under much more pressure because their tournament life depends on it. However, teams like Fnatic and G2 Esports, undoubtedly the best in this Split, arrive confident and have shown it in their matches.

G2 Esports managed to crush all of EXCEL’s aspirations, who were inspired after winning their last three games in a row. Excel will have to win one of their last two matches to secure their presence in the Group Stage.

On the other hand, we have Fnatic much more ruthless in their victory, as they destroyed Team BDS with an exceptional Baron Nashor steal and, in addition, a comeback against Elder Dragon.

Team Heretics qualify by beating MAD Lions in an Iberian duel

Day 7 of the LEC Summer Split closed with an Iberian classic between Team Heretics and MAD Lions, where the team commanded by Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski could take the victory. In addition, this victory means the automatic qualification of Team Heretics for the Group Stage, where they join, for now, Fnatic and MAD Lions.

While it is true that Jankos had a great game, there is no doubt that Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié also did his bit with LeBlanc. On the other hand, it is also worth mentioning that this is the third loss in a row, and while they are close to clinching qualification, they could start in the Lower Bracket if they don’t recover in the last two rounds.
