Midnight Society, the game studio founded by streamer Dr Disrespect, has recently released more information about Project Moon. The game maker has released a roadmap for the coming months that will allow players to play the first parts of the game.

In December 2021, popular streamer Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm IV announced that he was in the process of developing his own game. He had rounded up a bunch of game developers to create a game in the battle royale genre. At the beginning of 2022, fans could register as “founders”. According to Midnight Society, there were 400,000 signups, of which 10,000 people had the opportunity to purchase the “Variant,” an NFT that serves as an in-game avatar.

New information about Project Moon

The game has been quiet for a while, but yesterday a roadmap was announced for the upcoming months. Project Moon will be a PvPvE game, which means you will play against other players as well as against the game world itself. The game will be published in snapshots — playable experiences surrounding the development of the game, similarly to Minecraft. A new Snapshot for Project Moon will be released every six weeks.

Every player with an NFT variant gets access to the snapshots and can test the game and give feedback on what is good or what should be added or changed. According to Midnight Society’s website, the feedback will be used to improve the game. The first snapshot will consist of a small area with a shooting range to test the first weapon, and new content will be added to this area every six weeks.

Criticism of Dr Disrespect and the game

A Founding event for the game is scheduled for July 29, as a part of which players who have purchased NFT variants can discuss the development of Project Moon. The event will also be streamed live on YouTube and other platforms.

Meanwhile, there has been a lot of criticism of DrDisrespect’s plans and execution of the game. Many people on the Internet have criticized the fact that the Doc easily got unpaid test players for a game without content. There’s also the question of how is it going to take before Project Moon actually has a playable PvP prototype because currently, only 10 game developers seem to be working on the project.

While there’s still a lot unanswered, more information about the Dr Disrespect game should be revealed soon.
