The movements in the lineups of Southeast Asian Esports organizations continue, and this time, we have that one of the main ones, Bleed Esports, announced the signing of Marcus “Nephh” Tan for its VALORANT division.

This move is somewhat unexpected by everyone in the community, as Bleed Esports has been successful in different recent events.

Bleed Esports announces the signing of Nephh in place of JayH

As previously said, Bleed Esports, one of the most well-known organizations on the Asian continent, revealed that Nephh would replace Wong “JayH” Jia Heng in their VALORANT lineup.

Bleed Esports has had a good start to 2023 regarding VALORANT, so this decision surprises many in the community. The team recently won the VALORANT Challengers League 2023: Malaysia & Singapore Split 1, beating X10 Esports.

Now, despite this, the organization has decided to make changes to its lineup and bring in Nephh from X10. Nephh said he chose to join Bleed because he believes this team has a better chance of qualifying for the Ascension League than X10. In addition, the player also pointed out that X10 is a team that is not 100% dedicated to the players’ goals, meaning they are not going all in.

Bleed Esports is betting everything on this new lineup

The VCT Asia – Pacific is on fire, and many teams dream of qualifying for the Ascension League. Bleed Esports is one of the best teams in the Malaysia and Singapore regions, and now, with the addition of Nephh, the team aims to perform much better.

Moreover, Bleed Esports faced X10, the former team of their new signing, several times, so they have an excellent understanding of their playstyle.

Speaking of JayH, we can highlight that he joined Bleed Esports last October. The player was one of the mainstays of the team’s lineup so far. However, the player, being very young and still attending school, cannot dedicate 100% for now to the VALORANT competitive scene, and that’s why the team makes this decision.

JayH decides to stay as a substitute

Mika “mikachuuu” Nah, the manager of Bleed Esports’ VALORANT division, said they had allowed JayH to look for a new home in another team. Still, the player decided to stay on the team as an alternate.

Mukachuuu added that young JayH has been instrumental in the entire success of the team, and they will always be forever grateful to him. On the other hand, he also points out that the decision to leave him on the bench is complicated, but the issue of JayH’s school schedule influenced this change. Finally, Nah said they hope the player can return to the team’s starting lineup and asserted that this might happen when he finishes his studies.

JayH, taking a mature stance, responded to Bleed Esports’ announcement on Twitter by thanking the team and wishing them the best of success. In addition, the player hopes that Bleed Esports will win the VCT Pacific Ascension.

The Bleed Esports lineup is as follows:

  • Derrick “Deryeon” Yee
  • Ngô “crazyguy” Công Anh
  • Tyler “juicy” James
  • Natchaphon “sScary” Matarat
  • Marcus “Nephh” Tan
  • Wong “JayH” Jia Heng – Substitute
  • Nikola “LEGIJA” Ninić – Head Coach
