The emotions of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023 continue, and we are much closer to knowing which will be the last three teams present at the BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2023. For now, we have that BIG got an extraordinary victory against OG to continue with life in their race for the qualification to the final event.

On the other hand, we also note the excellent victory of Astralis, who crushed Complexity Gaming, thus extinguishing the flame of Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski and his new team. As a result, BIG will face Team Vitality to fight for the qualification to the Fall Finals, while Astralis will face Team Liquid.

Finally, in the next few hours, we will have the match between Evil Geniuses and G2 Esports, where we expect G2 to pull out all the stops and get a very comfortable victory.

Without further ado, let’s see what happened in the match between BIG and OG on the previous day of the Fall Groups.

BIG apply a reverse sweep against OG

The second match of the day was marked by an excellent comeback by BIG since, after falling in the first map, they managed to recover to win the last two and thus complete the reverse sweep against OG. However, there is no doubt that the three maps were exciting, as there were emotions and a lot of intensity from start to finish.

It all started on Mirage, OG’s map pick, where Iulian “regali” Harjău had a sensational match, and, thanks to that, OG took the win. The first half was a give-and-take that ended with a partial victory for BIG by 8-7. Then, at the change of sides, OG implemented a virtually impenetrable defense, and, thanks to that, they took the victory by 16-11.

On the next map, Overpass, OG started the first half with an impressive pace of play and took a 10-5 partial victory. When we all thought this was the end of BIG in the tournament, the German squad woke up, and in what a way. Led by Karim “Krimbo” Moussa, BIG came from behind to win 16-13 and even the series at 1-1.

At Ancient, the series is decided

Finally, the teams moved to Ancient, the deciding map of this series, where BIG used the momentum of their comeback on the second map to start with everything on their CT side. As a result, they took a 10-5 partial victory.

Then, as the sides switched sides, we had another give and take, as the teams were each winning a round, leading us to believe that, if that happened, BIG would comfortably take the win. However, OG could win three consecutive rounds to put them 11-15 on the scoreboard, but this was not enough, and BIG won the last round to take the victory by 16-11 and thus continue alive in the tournament.
