Very few organizations in the esports scene have been successful and remain among the best throughout their career. The Ukrainian organization, Natus Vincere or NaVi, are one of them. NaVi are in almost every esport today, but CS:GO is one of their most successful divisions.

In addition to NaVi, we have organizations like Fnatic, Virtus.pro, Ninjas in Pyjamas, G2 Esports, and others that have been in the competitive scene since its inception. However, these have had recurring ups and downs over the past few years.

NaVi becomes the only team to play all Majors in CS:GO

Throughout the history of CS:GO, we have observed many teams that have dominated for some periods. Such is the case of Astralis with that unbeatable lineup during 2017 and 2018; NaVi also dominated the scene for several years in 2020-2021. FaZe and G2 Esports have been looking to establish dominance over the past few seasons.

However, NaVi are the only team qualified for every CS:GO Major since its beginning. As a result of the recent qualification to the Paris Major, the last one in the era of our beloved CS:GO, NaVi will play all 19 events sponsored by Valve.

As we have noted on several occasions, a few days after the release of the long-awaited Counter-Strike 2, Valve announced that the Paris Major would be the last in the CS:GO era.

After ten years of events sponsored by the game’s developers, the capital of France will host the last in history, before the first in the CS2 era, which is already confirmed to be played in March 2024 in Denmark.

For all of the above and all that a Major in CS:GO represents, no team will want to miss this event. NaVi and Fnatic were the first teams to seal their ticket to the Paris Major, comfortably beating their rivals in the RMR Europe A.

NaVi makes history and will play in the 19th Major in history

As mentioned, with NaVi’s victory over FaZe Clan last Friday, April 7, NaVi sealed their ticket to the Paris Major. Moreover, thanks to their three victories in these qualifiers, they will start the Major directly from the Legends Stage.

The DreamHack Winter 2013, played in Jönköping, Sweden, was the first Major in the history of CS:GO, which saw Fnatic lift the champion’s trophy by beating NiP in the final with a 2-1 score. In this tournament, NaVi could not get past the Group Stage, as they lost both matches they played, and the team’s lineup in that tournament was:

  • Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko
  • Serhij “starix” Ishchuk
  • Arsenij “ceh9” Trynozhenko
  • Denis “seized” Kostin
  • Anton “tonyblack” Kolesnikov

But, if participating in all 19 Majors is insufficient, we can point out that NaVi has reached Legends status in 14. This tells us that the team crushed each of its opponents in every one of the qualifiers played.

While NaVi has reached the grand final of a Major five times, it can boast of having won just once, the PGL Major Stockholm 2021.

In second place on this list, we have Fnatic, which has only missed three of the 19 events throughout history. But, on the other hand, we have one player who, if he could match NaVi’s record for attendance at Majors, is none other than the Dane and another of the game’s legends, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen. Dupreeh has attended all 18 previous Majors, and if he qualifies with Team Vitality, he will reach this milestone that, without a doubt, no one will be able to beat in history.
