The Call of Duty League has partnered with Monster Energy, which will serve as the exclusive energy drink for the league for the rest of the 2023 CDL season and the entire 2024 CDL season.

Monster Energy has announced a partnership with Call of Duty League to keep the teams, casters, and fans energized and focused throughout the competition. Moreover, Monster will deliver the Major 4 Finals match highlights, a fantastic Monster Matchup on Friday night, post-match interviews, match previews, and more.

Monster Energy will also offer curated experiences at League-controlled marquee events including the Championship Tournament. Also, a VIP “Monster Energy Row” will be open to fans for merchandise and gear. The addition of Monster Energy to the Call of Duty League’s roster of sponsors effectively signals the end of its prior deal with Mountain Dew Amp Game Fuel.

Whether it is sponsorship or broadcasting, the CDL league appears to be undergoing a lot of strategic changes in an effort to create a sustainable ecosystem. With a non-exclusive agreement, CDL returned to Youtube earlier last month, expanding its broadcast platforms and offering viewers more ways to watch the Call of Duty action.

Youtube and CDL had an exclusive three-season broadcasting deal, which come to an end ahead of the 2023 season when the league made the switch back to Twitch. Nevertheless, with the league back on YouTube, fans now have a simpler way to revisit matches after they’ve ended, especially because they are uploaded individually on the league’s official channel. In addition, the league is also available on Twitch, much to the delight of many fans.

Monster Energy’s deep history in esports

Although some of the most popular sportsmen and sporting events in the world are sponsored by Monster Energy, the sports market hasn’t always been the brand’s only focus. Their reputation among the younger generation has led them to concentrate a lot of their marketing efforts on the video game and esports industries. Since 2014, DreamHack-branded esports events and festivals have had Monster Energy as a major sponsor and partner.

Last year, Monster Energy expanded its partnership with the world’s leading esports company ESL Gaming. The multi-year agreement made Monster Energy a global partner for a number of popular CS:GO and Dota tournaments, including the ESL Pro Tour, ESL Pro League, ESL Challenger, ESL One, DreamLeague, and the Snapdragon Pro Series. Moreover, Monster is an international partner of the CS:GO Hub, an analytics tool that provides comprehensive data from competitive and matchmaking games to teams and players to aid in skill development.
