CH4KNU TO OMGN: A “NEOS” BEGINNING?

Starting off, Smart Omega sent one of its most famous players in the Philippines and in SEA, Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog, to play for its developmental league team, Omega NEOS.

With Ch4knu’s addition to Omega NEOS, the Ch4kmamba is expected to improve Omega Neos’ chances of clinching away the MDL Philippines title from current and two-time champions ECHO Proud – something it almost did last season.

Ch4knu will be joined by Omega Neos stalwarts exp laner Dan Nathaniel “Dan” Yambao, Andrew “Andoryuuu” Flora, and new additions Jayson “Riku” Alupit, Bert Patrick “Bert” Segovia, and Mark Ferry “Dokmen” Nazar.

Returning to helm Omega Neos is Coach Patrick “Dhap” Palacio, backed up with Assistant Coach Mohammad “Moody” Sanal and John Paul “Aggressive” Aveno.

CAN ECHO PROUD MAKE A 3-PEAT?

The reigning and defending Kings of the D-League, Echo Proud, has seen it trim its championship lineup and shopped for new players in its bid to continue its dominance of the developmental crown.

With Jankurt “KurtTzy” Matira leaving ECHO altogether, they get another Tzy – this time from Gamelab to replace him. Masayuki “YukTzy” Fujita joins the roster, alongside ECHO Proud veterans James “Jeymz” Gloria, Justine “Zaida” Palma, and Santi Flores “Santi Sucre” Noble.

Renz “Palos” Solomon, Jermaine “Aizawa” Fernandez, and Ishkael round out the ECHO Proud roster, who will be coached by their returning head tactician, Ronnel “Cjay” Espinoza.

BLCK x ROUGH WORLD ERA: REDESIGN, RECREATE, RECLAIM (THE CROWN)?

After having two seasons in the doldrums, Blacklist Academy is aiming to finally reclaim the crown and break the code in winning the MDL-PH trophy.

The first season featured homegrowns and team 2 players, while the second season was mired by controversy and internal difficulties. This year, Blacklist’s developmental team is a partner from the local esports scene: Rough World Era, who, like the mother Blacklist team, is out to redesign their gameplay, recreate the winning traditions, and hopefully, add their first developmental league jewel.

Head Coach Joshua “Josh” Alfaro is set to have a huge task ahead of him, and his squad from Rough World Era is ready to take the challenge.

Among them is ex-Team Payaman Pro Team roamer Reginald “Regiii” Baluyot, Gold Laners Jericho “Lodzz” Mendoza and Jimmy “Wayannn” Padua, exp laner Red “Percent” Sebastian, Midlaner Kevin “Sicaaa” Bitancur, and multirole player JA “Peakzjago” Guevarra.

RSG MDL S3
RSG x EL GANADOR: BEST OF (MLBB) PRO WORLDS COLLIDE

One of the most popular names in the Philippine amateur esports scene has partnered with one of the most well-known esports brands in the region and in Asia.

The red and blue tunes of El Ganador Esports and RSG Philippines have come up with a strong collaboration that can hopefully give the Raiders and El Ganador’s fans alike something to cheer for.

Headed by Coaches James “Jayce” Salibay and Dickson “Dixxie” Tan, the team of Allen “Allen” Bantay, Christian “Nyija” Calantoc, John “Robin” Florano, Raven “Aeris” Arellano, Andrei “Andrei” de Guzman, and Justin Kelly “Soren Tupac” Enriquez aim to bring the same level of respect, championship-caliber finesse, and sheer determination that made them well-loved in the amateur MLBB scene in the Philippines.

Only time can tell if the Raiders’ partnership with El Ganador can bring more fruits, but the amateur scene’s fans can surely rejoice at one of the country’s most popular community teams getting a crack at being in the highest stages of pro competition.

MINANA ARCHIVES: NEW BLOOD, NEW CHANCE AT THE CROWN

Minana Archives, meanwhile, is setting its sights for its own shot at glory in the D-League.

Their roster reveal has gone viral – no thanks to one of their players looking like one of the Philippines’ most popular content creators.

John Denver “Junnie” Carbonell’s IGN – and looks – draw inspiration from Marlon “Junnie Boy” Velasquez, the sibling of Lincoln “Cong TV” Velasquez. This prompted Minana Archives to jokingly clarify, “it’s only Junnie, not Junnie Boy!”

But jokes aside, Salvick “Kouzen” Tolarba, Hugo “Nezha” Sorilla, Mark Joseph “Makaru” Napiza, Glenn “D3ndi” Sababan, Josh Ian “Daizo” Alburo, and John Clarence “Milktea” Cabaron aim to have a performance worth the accolades as Minana tries to snag its own first MDL PH crown.

RRQ KAITO: CAN THE STORY BE SWEETER THE SECOND TIME AROUND?

For RRQ Kaito, the latest iteration of the world-famous RRQ esports team, the story wasn’t that sweet the first time around, with them placing 9th in MDL Philippines Season 2.

For Season 3, the new roster hopes that the Philippines can also be another sweet sport for victory.

In charge of the team is head coach Paulo “Pauloexpert” Munsayac, leading a force boosted with new names and some familiar faces.

Returning to the squad is MLBB veteran Kenneth Jiane “Kenji” Villa, who was part of several MPL pro teams such as Aether Main, Smart Omega, and RSG Philippines. This provides RRQ a much-needed firepower boost and veteran mindset.

Also returning to RRQ Kaito are exp laner Edferdz “Ferdz” Fernandez and gold laner Kim “Dai Ki” Sebanes, alongside new acquisitions Gabriel “DENJIRO” Guinto, Carl Edriel “Minguin” Gallantes, Cymond “Cy” Torres, and Denniel Denison “xNova” Gomez.

Other teams are expected to release their MDL-PH rosters soon.
