MIBR’s Brazilian line-up has snatched the last spot at IEM Rio 2023 after a tough qualifier battle against Complexity. With that, the team list for the event in Rio de Janeiro is finally complete.

MIBR has secured the final qualifying spot for IEM Rio 2023. The Brazilian line-up defeated Complexity 2-1 in the final game of the North American qualifier. The Brazilians had already previously beaten Complexity in the Upper Bracket Finals, but a double win over their opponents secured them a ticket to Rio de Janeiro’s Jeunesse Arena.

MIBR win thanks to insani

Felipe “insani” Yuji was MIBR’s key player in the match as the young Brazilian averaged a 1.28 across seven maps to help his team win. He helped MIBR get his team across the finish line on Ancient. The player had recently attracted attention after a great performance at IEM Katowice. In April, at IEM Rio 2023, the 18-year-old pro will have another chance to show off his skills in front of a home crowd and possibly help his team claim the prize pool.

MIBR dropped just one map throughout the entire qualifier, defeating both paiN and Complexity to secure a spot in the finals. The Brazilians then came back from a 5-10 deficit on Ancient to defeat the North Americans for the second time in two days.

IEM Rio 2023 starts in April

IEM Rio will be held in Rio de Janeiro from April 17 to 23 and will bring Counter-Strike back to Brazil’s most iconic city for the second time in a span of one year. Big and well-known teams like Natus Vincere, Heroic, and FaZe Clan will take part in the competition, while Brazilian teams like MIBR will try to use their home-field advantage and try secure victory.

The $250,000 event will be held at Rio de Janeiro’s Jeunesse Arena. The arena has proven itself to be a good venue before, with Brazil taking center stage as the host. Last year, the tickets for the Rio Major sold out quickly, and it is expected that this year will be no different.
